Carl Bildt has always had Serb-leanings. Fortunately for the Albanians his ability to influence EU policy hit rock bottom in 1995 when as a co-chair of the Dayton peace talks he pushed a pro-Serbian line and made Milosevic a party to talks. It soon became clear he was wrong and NATO-s intervention in KosovA four years later was a proof of that. His glory days within the EU are over.

How about Lars Ohly? :)

He seems to have a fondness for things that comes from the east, like Russia and China. He and Serbia could play ball with Russia and China.

No, Sony, I never said he was on the "Serbia-side" (whatever that means). I said he is the closest you get.

But since you are so eager to get him replaced, which pro-serb foregin minister candidates can you pick out of your pocket?

I agree with Carl (the commentator) yes Bildt was one that temporized a little bit the recognition procces from the swedish part.
I know Sweden quite well and I have a lot of respect for the way people there see democracy, freedom and civil rights, but the Balkans are not like Scandinavia (I wish it would be), in the Balkans people feel differently and think differently and i do not think that a comparison with Skane or Aland (sorry i don't have the swedish keyboard) is even worth to be mentioned. Probably would have been better if Sweden would have taken the traditional long time to pass a decision this time.

Sony,

"So Carl bildt please do the best thing and resign! "

And who would you like to put in his place? Most of the other parties of the parlament (including the social democrats) were actually critizing him for not recognising Kosovo earlier. And when it comes to the Balkans he definetely knows his homework.

Carl Bildt didn't look very happy when he announced Sweden's recognition of Kosovo. I'm pretty sure he's not satisfied with the way things ended up.

So go easy on the guy, Sony, because I honestly don't think you would find a foreign minister candidate in Sweden that cares more for Serbia than him.

ZKUK,

you perceive that "nothing has changed" because you have not been in Kosova recently. The Kosovar Government couldn't pass 1 single law without having to go to the UN in New York where MANY TIMES the Russian "expert" was there to call foul for every single law. The Kosovars have power right now and are using it wisely. The borders are being negotiated with everyone. Did I mention that over 400 companies are interested to invest now because the status has been defined. The future seems very clear and charted.

6. Constitution (to be cont.)
7. Kosovar Passport (to be cont.)

I think that's enough for today. I think people underestimate us, Kosova is free and independent.

A letter to Carl bildt

First of all i have to say that you are the worst minister i have ever seen and heard! how can you say that kosovo is a own country?! why do you not say that Taiwan is a country,Kurdistan baskien ? or even better Skåne, lappland (sammerna) Åland and so on..??? i think they are "unik" case as you say for kosovo! But we all know that this false state never will be totally accapt by all country in the UN so sorry NATO and EU (and some other countrys/people) you are not bigger than the LAW!

So Carl bildt please do the best thing and resign! becuse you have just oppen "the worst door" of them all!!!!!!!

to the serbian people -Kosovo will always be a part of Serbia!

To the albanians how live in Serbia-you should have autonomy like katalonia or baskia as the serbia was offering you! this is the best solution Carl bildt!

"The United Nations will have to remain in Kosovo as a buffer between the countries that recognize Kosovo's independence and those that do not," Bildt was also quoted as saying.

Yes, this is effectively confirming the de facto partition the UN will be protecting.

Again, not much has changed on the ground.
