Peggy you are correct in so far as Kosova's land mass being one part of a percentage of original and naturaly historic Illyria/Albania homeland. You seem too concerned with our borders when Serbia's still unraveling borders might interest you more, one would think. And by the way, Serbs are in no position to move any signs or borders. You don't even have a stable government.Take care of your house before lecturing us on ours.

"Kosova is independent and recognised by the nations that matter in this world."(ahmed, 9 March 2008 22:11)

Good luck convincing the majority of UN members accepting Kosovo now buddy, those types of comments are priceless and so typical....

Long time has passed.. by the time this get's posted, will be over 24 hrs - that sign still there?

Might be an idea to get Thaci to make the next one solely out of timber. Can be recycled then & will give serbs warm feelings in winter :)

Ahmed:
Ever the optimist. Here's a couple of names for you. Diego Garcia. Subic Bay. Know these are/were US bases, but is effectively what 'NATO' base called "Bondsteel' effectively is.

EA:
Actual situation is that K-albanian UDI has not been recognised by UN & most of world, so calling said entity a state would not be journalistically accurate.

Is you who is not being 'realistic'.

Camp Bondsteel:
Refer you to response to EA's post.

Given your 'moniker', have a suggestion for you. How's about calling part of Kosovo where K-albanians are in majority something like 'Bondsteel Area of Dependence'?

And while on the subject of names, why do K-albanian supporters continue to refer to Kosovo as 'Kosova' when even your own 'prime minister' writes it as 'Republic of Kosovo' on future serbian firewood?

When you check the stats of any country you will be able to find information like what is the official language of the country, what currency they use, what is the religion of the country, literacy and birth rate etc.

Judging by the Albanian posters here we would get information such as this.
Language... Albanian
Religion....Albanian (I have seen the Albanians claim that their religion is Albanianism not Muslim.)
Flag....Albanian

Are we talking about Albania here?

That border is a little more south, so the sign being in the wrong spot will be removed quickly.

Kosova is independent and recognised by the nations that matter in this world.Thaci is only reaffirming what is already a fact. There are a lot of countries in the world with NATO bases and are doing alright economically.Camp bondsteel will help the economy of kosova by creating more jobs for kosovars and bring foreign exchange into the country.

So putting up a sign in Kosovo requires a large number of KFOR troops and police does it?

I can soon image barbed wire surrounding them and a few tanks for good measure.

Kosovo's puppet masters have only force as a means to justify and protect this quasi entity and I can't see that changing for some time to come.

EA, your only independend in the eyes of the countries that recognized it. To the rest of the world Kosovo is still a providence of Serbia. Thaci is only adding fule to the fire, something he knows very well. Be happy with south of the Ibar and the 25-30 countries that reconise and are funding it's existace. The north will not go be part of this. No matter what Thaci does the north is already part of Serbia and will stay there. You can't ethnically cleanse the north Thaci, give it a rest.

I don't know why you people keep wasting time and energy talking bad about the new state, while lot of countries already recognized Kosovo as a sovereign state. Kosovo is no longer a province, you should realize this!

EA

"Merdare is situated at the administrative boundary between the province and central Serbia."

B92,

Was it a lapsus by calling Kosova a province?

I am pretty sure that as a free and independent brodacaster should state it more realistically.

Interesting that Thaci would waste money on such a deliberately provocative act.
And if he keeps putting up these signs.. KFOR will soon run out of personnel trying to protect them.

I'll bet the sign will be gone before the end off this day?

On an more serious thought, this kind off action isn't helping tone down the tensions either, Thaci is not the sharpest tool in the shed it seems.

I would imagine that the energetic application of a few sledgehammers or a bulldozer will put paid to that sign. I will give it 24 hours, max.
