South Ossetia sends recognition appeal to UN

No precedent, hey?

Few things for better understanding the two nations involved to the conflict :

1. Both Ossetians and Georgians has settled in Caucasus about 2500 years ago and mostly co-existed as friendly ally nations. Ossetia has joined Russia 26 years earlier than Georgia but before WW2 South part of it ( like later Abkhasia ) was included in Georgia which after independence declaration 18 years ago tried to tear the Ossetians away from Russia where live greater part of their nation. Both nations became Orthodox Christians long before the Russians and the Serbs did .

2. Since then Georgians has never lived as one nation before in 1801 Russia has started to unite several hostile KARTLI nations later called a new name the GEORGIANS. Just like in the Ukraine where most people learned in 1922 that they are no longer Russians and that since then on they should call themselves the Ukrainians.

3. Ossetians are the only European nation of ARIAN origin. ( It did not stop them to fight severely the Germans and per quantity of population they had more Heroes Of The USSR than any other nation .) They are descendants from a SCYTHIAN tribe mostly known as ALANS ( you know the English name Alan and a French one Alain ) or SAMATS ( like King Arthur in Britain) or VANDALS ( that has destroyed Roma ). They still have their national names like ALAN , ARIAN, ARIANA (female) ect.

4. Tbilisi has twice launched wars against the Ossetians and was twice defeated although the population of Georgia is 80 times as big as that of the South Ossetia. There are 7 millions of Georgians in the world with about 5 millions inside Georgia plus about 1,5 millions in Russia while there are only 700 000 of Ossetians with only 70 000 of them to live South of the Caucasus wall.

5. Despite the two severe wars launched by Tbilisi the two nations everywhere they meet are very friendly to each other. They still marry each other , make friends ect.

6. President Saakashvili and his most wanted enemy the ex-minister of defense Okruashvili (now in France ) are both of Ossetian origin with their mothers being Georgians. Moreover President Saakashvili is proud to be born the same day J.Stalin was born from his Ossetian father and his Georgian mother

7. It’s well known that the Osetians are much better warriors. So Georgia does not dare to launch the third war which may lead to disintegration of the state. So they try to involve the US to become part of the conflict on the Georgian side. All the time he provokes confrontation between Russia and the US. Georgia is the only state in the world in which a US citizen cannot be imprisoned even if he blows up a nuclear bomb in the center of Tbilisi …They have a special law for the Americans …

They are going about the very wrong way, because UN cannot grant them Independence. I assume russia told them to do it this way. Poore advise.
They should declare it and than wait for recognition, which will never come only from few rouge states.
Kosova so far officially has been recognized by 26 countries. The most developed countries. Only these countries make up the world GDP of 57%.
