First 'brussels' tries to legitimise their presence in Kosovo under the guise of a 'stability mission' (aka EULEX), & when this gets stepped on by the UN, they start talking about an 'International Steering Group'.

Mr Secretary-General, looks like time for the bug-spray again :))

Apart from yourself of course - why else keep commenting on them.

While russian bear is no longer 'grizzly bear', certainly wouldn't ascribe 'teddy bear' status to them :)

"I said this once before in these forums, and I am saying it again. It is just a matter of time before UN and SC changes. The UN was formed after WWII because the political situation was such that it suited world order to have an organisation like the UN. I would not be at all surprised if in less than 10 years time UN is replaced with a more up to date organisation "

Why not just say why it was formed, rather than using such a circular statement - which doesn't actually say much at all? Will help :)

UN was formed to prevent another world war.
See - simple.

As to a 'better replacement' coming along sometime in the future - while the idea of such might be appealing to you, the reality is somewhat more sobering.

The only time nation states have the will to form this sort of 'world body' seems to be after a world war - League of Nations after WWI, UN after WWII.

60 years now, & no global conflict. Good. UN is working.

"I just wonder what will Russia then do without its Veto. "

Suspect that your animus towards the UN & Russia is simply because russian veto in UNSC prevents recognition of K-albanian UDI.

If so, only shows how short-sighted your views are.

It is very contradictory the Serbian position of most of the Serb posters here. You say that UNMIK has done a poor job and bring the figures of the economy of Kosovo that we all "know" by heart now. When an alternative is offered with the EU mission that can help the Kosovo people, Albanians and Serbs alike, you complain about it too. It is the same EU in which all the countries of the region, Serbia included, want to enter. So is unemployment and corruption bad or not? Say the Albanians remained under Serbia. Would it give to the Albanians in Kosovo the same amount of help that the EU is giving them? What kind of Kosovo is Serbia interested in? Just saying "Kosovo je Srbija" having done anything at all to address 90% of Kosovo is really just noise in the air.
Or maybe I am starting naively from the wrong assumptions..

Princip,

The EULEX will leave Kosova in 10 years, how long is it going to take Russian companies to leave Serbia?

Independence that sounds more like dependence is on you buddy. I promise you, that you're going to rely on Russia for everything for the next century.

Don't think it's not suspicious that NIS was bought for cheap change? Russia is using you with this "I'll back you up on Kosova"...at the same time, it's buying everything economically from Serbia at cents worth.

KS - keep deceiving yourself in all that you suggest - it is better that way then to comprehend the failure of false promises and loss of hope that will come form the reality of this frozen conflict, partitioned, limbo dependence!

Oh what a tangled web we weave and how easily some are deceived...

I learned last night that the ISG is the highest authority of Kosova (higher than UN). The group claims that its' purpose is to ensure that Ahtisaari plan is implented (partly true) but the real mission is to get KV into UN, EU. If you have been paying attention US and UK are deploying more personell, and countries that are recognizing Kosova are also contributing monetarly. Expect more and more countries to recognize the Kosova.
