Serbia is not a hostage of 136,000 Serbs in Kosovo but the home and shelter to all of them, including you Mrs Trajkovic. Belgrade is the only place that K-Serbs should trust. Do you suggest that they should turn their heads in direction of Pristina?

When it comes to partition, de facto partition exists for already 9 years and that is how it will stay. The official partition won’t happen and should not happen. Serbia will never recognise south of the Ibar River because all symbols of Serbian statehood are in the South and everything that means to Serbia is in the South. I agree with you and Mr Dinkic that Serbia should stop paying the Kosovo debts and that money should be re-direct to Serbs and the parts of Kosovo inhabited by the Serbs.

A lot of bravado talk from the West no doubt but everyone with brains know that they are actually more desperate than anyone else for peace and tranquility following the UDI.

Those countries where a debt with Kosovo exists should only be stopped if they have recognised Kosovo as independent.

If on the other hand, a debt exists and the country's position is NOT to recognise, then payments should continue.

According to her, if the government of Serbia will continue to repress the Albanians in Presevo and Bujanovac, Westerns have no other choice then just to agree with Serbia’s government to make 8.1% to 15% as the government “wanted”, and unifying Presevo and Bujanovac with Kosovo proper. And you think Kostunica is enemy of Albanians?!!!!! I

She knows what she is talking about. It is not lapses. It is true. She cannot include Yugoslav Army members serving in the occupied Kosovo; she cannot include thousands of police patrolling Kosovo’s streets ordered by Beograd; she cannot include lowers, persecutors, judges, teachers, Serbian government’ companies personnel who are ordered by Beograd to replace Kosovars counterparts. Those might be hundred thousands but they where not from Kosovo but ordered to work in Kosovo.
My friend Tim, ask your officials and they know better what is for internal use and what is for “election or for international community” use. They know better then what they want to say. It happen that someone is fed up with this INTERNAL USE policy and declare things as they are. She mentions the Cyprus model. This would mean that we have a frozen conflict and a generation later we will have new negotiations. There are two problems with this model:
- it was based on the idea that everyone would recognize Kosovo and they have real independence. If that doesn't happen the model may come under stress.
- it is unclear what the position of the Serbs south of the Ibar would be in this model.

Yesterday mrs. Trajković said that partition would endanger the Serbs south of the Ibar. I derive from this that the north is needed for the Cyprus model to maintain its credibility.

I think she meant yesterday that open partitin, with a newinternational border at the Ibar, would be against the interess of Kosova Serbs. Of course that is not the Cyprus model, because noone in the world recognises northern Cyprus as a separate intl entity. So what she presumably means is there was silent support for something like the Annan Plan for the reunification of Cyprus, based on a federated Cyprus consisting of two federated states, one Greek Cypriot and one Turkish Cypriot. And that kind of internal semi-partiton would be the best outcome for an independent federated Kosova - a K Serb state and a Albanian state. Without an international border in between, it would mean the smaller K Serb commnities in the south could still be part of the K Serb state within Kosova.

This is the only solution I believe. I hoe she's right that there is silent support for it internationally.
