Then what if the K-Serbs don't want to live in an independent Kosovo??

If the K-Albanians can;t be forced tolive in an Kosovo under Serbian rule, then the K-Serbs cannot be forced toliven an Kosovo under Albanian rul, now does it?

No Ronald they can't. Ronald talk to Mike about that. He has some very interesting ideas about that. Too bad Belgrade is ruled by the likes of Jovan's and bmrusial's. Today the Serbs of Kosova/o would have been in a much much better position, with their own institutions that were recognized, with money coming from Belgrade, EU, Prishtina etc. That is what happens when you have a prime minister who believes in myths, your people will suffer the consequences of the unsound judgments of the prime minister.

Mike

What's stopping the south being drained of Serbs?

Quite simply, the world! Should the Albanians lay a hand on any Serb area they will lose Kosovo sooner than expected as quite a few nations are in the "wait and see" mode.

That's why they are quiet now. The US has told them to be on their best behaivour otherwise instead of the extra 15 to 20 countries they expect to recognise Kosovo they will get zilch!

Serbia is in control and Kostunica is playing this game well! Politics in these situations is rarely clean!

"Remember: Kosovo's historical relevancy to Serbia - it's monasteries, its locations, etc. are all SOUTH of the Ibar. If the south is emptied of Serbs as a result of reprisals, the very essence of Kosovo's importance is lost. Think carefully about the moves you are about to make!"
(Mike, 24 February 2008 12:44)

Mike, do you think the majority of Serbs cares that much about that? The monasteries etc are not the very essence of Kosovo's importance for the majority of Serbs. If these things were happening in Vojvodina, then Vojvodina would have been the historical heartland.

I don't think there will be a knock out victory of any side. Right now the Albanians believe they can steal Serbian territiory. But after a couple of weeks when Russia have its hands free from the electional formalities there will be a cold shower to refresh their minds.
By now only 10 % of the world has yielded to the US pressure.

American people are not excatly that smart to read outside of the mostly 2 or 3 controlled media papers and tv stations that only give a very small caption of any truth of what is happening in the world, America betrayed the Serbs, thats it, in 1999 they said that Kososvo is a part of Serbia and now they decide to change there mind and betray them, just like they betrayed so many other countrys in the world. The only reason Serbs make up 10% of the population is that of the Serbs tolerance of the Albanian migration to kosovo over the Tito years and beyond. It was the Serbs that were ethincally cleansed by a Thaci Kosovo liberation army strongman, drug dealer, human trafficker and extremist muslim activist that for some reason the american goverment wants to sponser and help and the washington post does not have the guts to truly investigate. There is a thug, but it is not the Serbs, its the american political machine and its puppet media.
Thank the Russians and Chinese who hopefully one day will and must bring real world peace by elimanting the threat of american domination and dictatorship.

KFOR's mandate does not allow that, they can not interfere with north-kosovo if it's wish is to secceed from Kosovo, theire mandate simply does not allow that.

That is why russia made the threat of to use force if KFOR steps outside it's mandate, then KFOR will become an party in the conflict and hence an illegal occupying force which can be attacked by either Serbia or Russia.

KFOR is operating under the UN mandate of resolution 1244 which clearly states that kfor is not allowed to choose side's.

I can know, i was in KFOR.

Whatever the K-Albanian posters may think, this is the beginning of a de facto partition of Kosovo. The most pressing problem now for Serbia is the fate of those K-Serbs living in the rest of this illegal state.
And of course, the Orthodox heritage.

Yesterday, an EU mission that Belgrade rejects as illegal, decided to "temporarily withdraw its staff from the north". Keep going until you reach Brussels no one asked for you or your technocrats and has been politicians. If you want to make employment work projects fore them let them count paper clips and shuffle paper that is what the EU is good fore hopefully they wont screw up that.

Accept the reality that the Serbs don't want to live under Albanian rule. Albanians lost the right to rule over Serbs in Kosovo numerous times; World War II, 1980's, 1998 and 2004 just to name a few instances.

Please accept this reality so we can all move on with our lives.

It is outrageous that a civilized declaration of independence and good intentions to make Kosovo the state of all its citizens are being met with violence, the burning of embassies and UN property. That is even more so when you see students being manipulated into these desperate political manoeuvres. A people cannot be forced to live in slavery especially in our days no matter how many hardliners you have in the government or how many hooligans you can put in the streets.

They can protest till they turn blue , but nothing will change. In Kosova constitution Serbs are the most prevledged, they will not find it in any country in the world, so what more can ask for?
I have said it before that Belgrade officials are using K-Serbs as pawns for their personal interest and nothing more. They(officials in Belgrade) knew the ultimat outcome of Kosova status, but they kept on lying to its people.
