'is this Serbian diplomacy to fight for Kosova? Not sure what that means'

it means dont take decisions that make our big bear friends really angry :)
what do you think it means
certainly not that kostunica is speaking for himself here

If my memory serves me correctly the United States bombed the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade in 1999 and killed a number of people inside.

Now they are claiming the moral high ground because their embassy in Belgrade has been attacked.

Are they serious!

"Revoking Kosova's independence is unthinkable. If such actions were to be undertaken that would mean war.

And war is in nobody's interest right now, except maybe the radical warmongering SRS and DSS.
(Nick KS, 23 February 2008 21:34)"

Not really, it is in every Serb's interest to retain kosovo, if that means "cold war," Serbs are up for the challenge.

We endured 78 days of bombing, signed an agreement that guaranteed our sovereignty, now that treaty has been violated and all bets are off!

That seems both of them (Kostunica and Samardzic) are declaring war to America and in the mean time are cautioning Tadic, Jovanovic and Canak to change or otherwise they will get Dindic’s fate. Very bad…..and the question is - have they power to do that…

I am curious to see when the Serbian people will wake up from such an old fashion communist propaganda served by a communist government and think about how to punish members of this government for failure. It is naive to believe that guilty are only the US and other countries. The responsible for this situation is the whole Serbian government but especially Kostunica, Jeremic and Samardzic. They never work out any exit strategy but only believed that Russian government will help them forever. Normally in such situation ministers shall reseign. I am wondering why Serbia needs a Kosovo minister now? Samardzic knows he has no future therefore he is blaming the others for his incompetence.

I am troubled that the US recognized an independent Kosovo. A unilateral action such as this does not take into account the voice of all who are affected.

Erhan

There is one good thing that happened to Serbia and that is this guy not getting elected. He most likely would have brought more sanctions to them and be viewed as a hero for it by those that were burning buildings. Even worse, Serbia could have gone into another conflict.

johny

These threat coming from the Serbs who are in power in Belgrade are very reminiscent of the threats that Milosevic and Arkan used to make. If it continues this way, Kostunica and Serbia might have the same fate as it had under the leadership of Milosevic and Arkan.

The Us will have to be extremely firm with these warmongering DSS people.
The first thing to be exacted is the compensation for all damage at our embassy.

America was "threatening the peace and stability of the region and the world order as a whole".

And he should have said that night is dark, and day isn't.

You need to achieve independence first before it can be revoked. Your attempt was made null and void shortly after it was proclaimed!

Now seeing that Kostunica is annoying the US and Albanians, I'd say he is doing the right thing! Do they expect us to just give Kosovo away?

There is no need to revoke 'Kosovo independance' since its was never granted independance in the first place. (Must be ratified by the UN)

A provincial declaration and celebration does not make
an independent state.

In fact, after the first week, more countries have chosen not to recognize the UDI (18) than those that have (17).

I always had the impression that Kostunica & company lived in a dream world, but until I saw this sort of reaction from him and his party I tought that that was just an impression. Apparently it is not: they HAVE lost all touch with reality. Threatening America like that and presenting it with ultimatums is plain stupid. Kosova is lost for good and if there even was a chance for Serbia to hold on to the North such attitude des not really help.

EA

It is hard to believe how Serbia can be run by a bunch of polititians like Kostunica and Samardzic. It seems to me that both are trying to save their personal skin for losing Kosova because of their nationalistic views. We all know the damage caused by Milosevic. More blows are expected towards Serbia with these kind of polititians.

Vlada, I coudnt agree with you more. These DSS people are out of touch with reality. But in the other hand they wanted this to happen all along. They are the ones looking to merge with Russia.
As far as Putin, he has given warnings for months now. I say, bring it on.
Nobody in the West cares much about Russia and their warnings that have no teeth.
I wish they took some action, and get embarrased to the degree that they wont open their mouth again.
They have to send 1 million troops and will NEVER take Kosovo over.
Do they think that Albanians will not fight or the NATO for that reason???
As far as DSS ministers, they have no mandate. All they can do is inflame the ordinary people. It is not a good thing to pit one people against other. There is no religion in the world that suggests that, like the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Has it been any violence from the Albanian side???
I dont think so.
All you have to do is look at the blogs in Serbian language on B92 and you will see that majority of Serbs are condemning the violence and saying that they oppose the direction that Kostunica and his cronies are suggesting.
They should all go to jail for inciting violence.
This is crazy, just crazy!
I read in the Montenegro news about rallies there and chanting:"kill Siptars"?!
There is something fundamentaly wrong with these people.
I know that MAJORITY of Serbs are not like that.
Milosevic's ghost is definitly around, and that is not a good thing.
Isolationism is not going to bring good things to Serbia.
