Despite risking my expression of sorrow to be labelled "insincere" by some here because I am Albanian I will still go ahead and express my deepest regret for the unnecessary loss of this young life.
Serbs have every right to protest the UDI but no one has to die over it.

Such a tragic death. I feel so sorry for the parents. My oldest son is 21 - and - god forbit that something hapens to him.

I hope that Serbs open their hearts to truth and start to think rationally in regard to Kosova. We are independed and nothing can change that. In 1999 masked paramilitaries entered my house and told us to leave in five minutes. You Serbs can not imagive what we went through. I wish no person in the world has to experiece what we did. But I am happy that regardless of everything that Milosevic regime did to me and my familly and to my country, my heart was never hateful. I always reminded myself that not all Serbs are bad. I also knew that we will never go back under Serbia. Because Serbia lost every right to rule us.

Stop all of this equivocation! "I feel so sorry for the young man & his family, but..." The fact is that the USA, Europe and other countries who have signed on to recognizing the theft of Serbian sovereign real estate is a direct violation of recognized International Law and an outrageous moral & ethical disgrace that will likely come back to haunt countries who call themselves "democracies."

I am not ashamed to be an American, but my country does things that make me feel ashamed. I am in the corner with Serbs.

B92,

You must be very afaid to display any post criticizing Kostunica.
You should also warn you readers to not criticize your political leaders because those dissenting views can not be published.

Sorry for this death that could have been avoidable. For this death only Kostunica and his staff should be held accountable. Condolences to the serb Kosovo family. This should never ever happen again.

Would those K-Albanians who are trying to score political points from this tragedy please get off this thread now.

A young man is dead. Show some respect.

May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

This is a very sad tragedy.

A Kosovo Serb refugee kicked out of his home at age 14 to protest against the US recognition and he ends up dying in the US embassy, which can be considered US territory.

My condolences to his family.

The apologies are not insincere. The loss of life of a 21 yr old kid is sad, especially one who, as someone pointed out, was only 10 years old when full-blown violence broke out in Kosovo, is sad for everyone.

But his death was in vain and I fear it will be used by the radicals to further their propaganda.

What's worse is this kid was welcome in Kosovo and you can see from the names above that even Albanians are sad about this. It seems to me that Albanians are sincere when they say they want Kosovo to be a place of peace and prosperity for everyone. And that's all they've ever wanted.

BTW, Albanians were WITH Serbs in 1389 fighting against the Turks. That's something Slobo forgot to add in his 1989 speech.

This is all a sham.

Of course this poor guy had no right to attack the US embassy, but I think that, being chased away from his hometown near Pristina, he did not need much encouragement from the Serbian authorities to come to his actions.

Afrim i agree with you it is really sad that someone had to die only for the couse of the serbian goverment by chantin Kosovo is serbia they still hold on to power ,Serbian people lets move forward and join european union where we all serbian albanian will have a briter future for our children ,by fitting nationalism will not get you that far anymore the time has changed espeacially Kostunica with his rhetoric Kosovo will allways be serbian is not getting anywhere as you know the Train has left the Station let us all look to the Future not to the passt
Kosovo Is an Independent State either you like it or not the Clock does not move Backward only Forward and serbian.

Unfortunate and sad. People like him should have been able to go and live in Kosovo instead of being sucked in this cycle of violence. He was a 12-year old kid in 1999, he couldn't have hurt anybody, he should have had the option of going back to his home and living there in peace.

Serb leaders wanted to have Kosovo for Serbia, but they had only contempt for its Albanians. Serb leaders never apologized for their crimes, and their current actions guarantee more deaths.

I feel bad that a young Serb died in the incident at the us embassy. I wish to extend my condolences to his family and friends and I hope his family is accorded a public funeral for him.

I also reject insincere condolences from propagandists.

Nikic

I also feel very bad about this death. So unnecessary.

But what a metaphor:

A young Serb youth from Kosovo dies because his government refuses to actually help him, but instead is actively encouraging instability.

While this is a very sad situation for the family and friends of the victim and the victim, I have to point out the irony in the fact that the first loss of human life, and that of a Serbian, ends up not in Kosovo, but in the capital of Serbia!!! So, while the majority of the Serbian posts on this website were hooting and hollaring about the inevitable loss of Serbian life and property when Kosovo gained independence at the hand of "savage, terrorist, and drug lord" Albanians, the complete opposite turned out to be true. Albanians are a peacefull people! The main reason why the majority of EU countries and many other countries around the world are siding with Kosovo, as opposed to siding with Serbia, is because of this display of disregard for innocent human life and property throughout the Serbian recent and distant history. The world is finally saying, enough is enough, but your pride and hubrus will not let you read the writing on the wall.

to the fella who's 'sorry'.

be sorry, if you have an ounce of humanity, which i'm sure you do, for the fact that he was thrown out of his home by albanians as a child. what do you think he would do but demonstrate? the symolism of this is almost too powerful. several hundred square meters of american sovreign territory in belgrade were violated because america violates 15 percent of our country's sovereign territory. a young man who was thrown out of his home by those america supports to take that territory, comes to demonstrate. and he is the sole victim.
rest in peace now, poor soul. may his family find ways to cope. may our country find ways to survive this assault.

I feel sorry for the death. I also feel sorry that young people are following people like Kostunica with their ideas.
He shouldnt have listened to people like Kostunica and start vandalizing the US Embassy.
Kostunica should be held responsible for all the unrest and the death of this poor person.
The secret plan that Kostunica government made few days ago seems that it has in plan to destroy Belgrade.
Again, I am sorry for the victim and their family.
