EU: Situation stable

Now Solana is quite a commedian although it seems he is calling for confrontation and violence. Naughty Naughty!

Out of 193 countries, 177 have NOT recognised Kosovo so that "state border" he is referring to is just a figment of his own imagination.

This is a win/win situation for both Serbia and Russia, no matter how it works out.

If the can of worms is kept closed then Serbia and Russia win. If it is opened then both Russia and Serbia have borders with friendly secessionist regimes that can only advantage us. Another win!

The only weapon the US and its servants have at the moment is "this is a unique case". However, it can easily be demonstrated by Russia and Serbia that it is not if that time ever comes.

So the battle here is whether unilateral independence will soon become the norm and partially recognised entities common.

The new condition for these secessionists is whether they have a friendly neighbour prepared to recognise them!

also, the same thing is all over the western media. first they say, serbs want to go to the eu, they'll forget about kosovo, they 'privately tell us they will'. but then they say government cant speak up to advocate giving up of kosovo even if it wanted to because that would be political suicide! how does that add up? politicians would be rejected by the same serbs who 'privately tell courageous reporters' they will forget kosovo for the sake of 'eu membership'? :) very strange logic. also, ask the jews if they forgot jerusalem. another 'proof' the w. media now gives is is, look, serbs elected tadic, who is pro eu. but they dont tell you that tadic told serbs they will never give up kosovo AND that he'll fight for the eu before he was elected.
the western media, much of the west is living in denial when it comes to this country and what to expect next. this is from a lifelong ds supporter. bombing didnt sway me but this has. i hope someone out there is wise and capable of understanding what has happened, and i hope they make wise moves toward serbia, not more catastrophic ones.

you are both so right - the Technocrats are so far up their proverbial they have lost sight of reality! This situation is now becoming all the more unstable then Staus Quo but equally status is in just as much limbo!!!

Note this line;

"UNMIK to EULEX and six months for the departure of KFOR troops,"

- this is all a EU sticth up for a partition within partition - that is the only one position that could unify the EU. KFOR will withdraw and only those anti-international law will remain proping up the mono-ethnic rump areas of Serbia's province. Of course the ethnic-Albanians have not been told just yet but they will be expected to just accept it! Clearly though the EU did not fully understand that Serbia will never relinquish their heartland and I guess they will be jut as shocked when the ones they feed bike back when it becomes evident that they have indeed been deceived!!
