Peter,
I am a bit puzzled here!!
So, when it suits you say that Albanians are creating a “Muslim country” in the heart of Europe.
Now, when it suits you, you say that Serbian Muslims respect the international law.
So, explain to me please: in which category would you put Kosovo Albanian Muslims?
In all the honesty it doesn’t really matter if Serbian Muslims are against the Republic of Kosovo.
They have the right to their opinion in the same way the countries that are accepting Kosovo as a state (and those that are opposed to it).
We have not created a Muslim state.
We have created a State that respects the people as people and not as Muslims, not as Christians, not as Albanians, not as Serbians.
From Sunday everybody in Kosovo is and is born as equal.
I guess this is a new term that Serbian government is not familiar with therefore it might seem a bit extraterrestrial to them.

EA, why do you find it funny that the Muslims of Serbia are against the declaration of Kosovo independence?

KS, currently only 9 countries have recognised Kosovo as being independent in 3 days. True there will be more but 100 seems overly optimistic.

Albanian in USA, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro were not part of Serbia in any case and the wars there were not started by Serbia.

Tourism can boost an economy but you cannot rely on it for sustainable growth. Potentially the biggest tourist attractiction in Kosovo are the endangered monastries.

I am not surprised that the Mufti of Serbia does not Support Kosova's Independence.
He knows pretty well that now that Kosova is offically gone, the Muslims in Serbia will get the heat. Now the Serbs will have them to express their frustrations...
but thank god their mosques were protected...

The people of Serbia threw that guy Slobo into the hague. They demonstrated against him and overthrew him. They didn't ask for this or do it to themselves. The world seems more willing to forgive German people who supported Hitler than Serbian people who overthrew Slobo. Why i sthat? What is the personal agenda against Serbia? The Serbian people do not 'deserve' as some have siad to have this happen to them.

Unfortunately for Pristina the recognition count must exclude the 2 most important countries needed for official UN recognition - China and Russia.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOT INTERNATIONAL LAW.I keep reading about this international law so much here it makes my head spin. If Serbia thought it can commit all these crimes in the 1990's and be protected by international law I guess it was a stupid gamble. Serbia never cared bout international law.

Albanian in the USA...

unfortunately those "villas" are very often built with dirty money ...and in europe you just have to ask a judge in any major city ...who is heavily involved in criminal activities...

guess who, my dear!

and last but not least...Albania is rising? well, you should read some non-albanian publications.

"Serbian muslum community doesn't like Kosova's independence? That would be the funniest thing of the day)))"

Why funny? Is it funny that Serbian muslims respect international law and dont want to allow a part of they're country to be taken away? I dont see the humor in that.

Ladies and gentleman,
let it be. You gambled in starting all those wars and lost. You lost Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro and now Kosova. Next time elect better leaders.

And yes, Albania is rising. Major investments in power and telecom have started and in 2-5 years tourism in our 200+ mile coastline will flourish. If you don't believ me, go and see all those beautiful villas being built all over Albania with immigrant money. Oh, Kosova will of course share in. After all, what's th epoint of building a $600 mil highway.

and thank God the Mufti of Serbia I trust is opposed to the former Milosevic regime.
(Nadeem, 19 February 2008 21:27)

Nadeem effendi,

I hate to break this to you but have you been living under a rock the past while now? The Milosevic regime was toppled in 2000 and Slobbo himself popped his clogs in 2006.

Nadeem

At least thank God there's some Serbs who essentially treat the local Muslims with tolerance and thank God the Mufti of Serbia I trust is opposed to the former Milosevic regime.

100 countries is very realistic. Kosova in UN is going to take 30 year, same with EU; this is okay, Kosova only needs to remove trade barriers with EU (biggest import/export) and join NATO.
Albania is expected with other regional countries to join NATO. What is important now is the Prishtina - Durrës highway + Kosovar Mines + (new) Albanian Oil ==> sea ports ==> EU.

As for the recognition of the countries, they have been coming much much faster than anticipated. It was supposed to take months but it's the third day and look where we are. Costa Rico was the first one to recognize Kosova on Feb 17th, 2008, than Afghan and etc.
