""If we'd tried to sit on that aspiration, if we'd tried to deny it, I think we'd have far more instability and danger" in the Balkans, he told BBC radio."

so, the British acted out of fear of the K-albanians???

what for heavens sake has happened to the once so glorious nation that fought against fascism in europe only 6 decades ago...?

this is a real degradation for every british citizen!

ps: miri, before writing, just think! he´s just saying that Chirac isn´t on duty anymore. what is so difficult to understand about that???

Independence is less dangerous? lets see, within 72 hours of declaration of independence, there have been multiple riots, a serb woman has been beaten, a bomb scare at a Northern Kosovo school, 2 checkpoints have been blown up. what can be more dangerous then that?

David Miliba says the UDI is "less dangerous than stifling secessionist feeling".

In other words, you choose the lesser of two evils.

this is a classic 'peace in our time speech' if i ever saw one, and it had to be a brit to say it! :)
amazing times we're living in.
what it says by "less dangerous", is that they think highly of us serbs :)
when they weighed it, who is more likely to resort to mindless violence, they clearly said, not serbs!
goodness me, they said it, but no shame!
yet :)

"...that Chirac has gone little french napoleon had to mark his territory to be good with oncle sam! "

What the hell are you talking about!!

Mr Milliband should learn to count. Just count the number of Albanians before 1999 and now. Then count the number of serbs before 1999 and now. Who have been ethnically cleansed?

There may exist other arguments for Kosovos independence, but NONE of Millibands arguments are valid.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband Tuesday defended London's support for Kosovo's independence.

Interesting he already has to defend it... furtherdown, he states that it is less dangerous than status quo... of course God knows what would have happend if 'independance' would have been denied...
One more time GB missed the chance not to follow the destractive US foreign policy and now that Chirac has gone little french napoleon had to mark his territory to be good with oncle sam!

Translation in lower English.....

We'd rather have our Nato troops babysitting these poor sods, than slugging it out in the Afghani mountains.
