Loyal citizens of Serbia stand united with your Government. Stand proud and never allow Serbia, never allow your sovereign territory to be dismembered.
Never allow separatists to steal Kosovo and Metohija. The Serbian diaspora is breathing with you.

To nikshala and johnny,

You two are talking a lot about how K-Albanians should not be under Serb rule. Well here's an idea...Leave! This rule goes for any citizen in any nation reagardless of political structure - if you are not happy with the government then leave the area/territory. If you want to fight for your rights, that's fair enough, but do so in a diplomatic manner (e.g. go to courts, make appeals etc). But if you take up arms (like KLA/UCK) then the govt will see you as terrorists (enemies fo the state) and of course they will respond. This is exactly what Serbia did. Trouble is US/EU like to delude themselves by thinking that they can be friends of the muslim world by bombing Serbia for doing exactly what any rationally minded government would do - fighting DOMESTINC (Kosovo is Serbia after all) terror (in this case Islamic terror. Yes KLA/UCK ARE Islamic terrorists, no question about that). Instead the K-Albanians stayed in Kosovo demanding its independence and creating more instability. Why is it so hard to see the truth of what is going on here? I'm not by any means saying or advocating that Serbs are angels, but for the question of KosovO, they are in the right. But this world is a jungle and ultimately Might Makes Right.

Well yes there was never any real disagreement re Serbian government policy on Kosovo so this should not come as a suprise. However, with the way a part of the government was acting one started to wonder.

I really think that Kosovo Albanian posters will have to start thinking about what will happen when Serbs opt out of what will be proclaimed Kosova. If Kosovo Albanians cant somehow get control of these areas quickly you will have a process of creeping division of Kosovo.

And let me be clear about this. The primary reason that Kosovo Serbs will look to Belgrade is that Pristina and UNMIK have abjectly failed in persuading Kosovo minorities that they have a future in a new state called Kosova.

So the choices are go for an ethnic cleansing and genocide campaign against Serbs for the whole territory. Or accept a new rump state of Kosova, which I believe has an equal chance of retaining the rest of Kosovo as Serbia does of retaining the newly crowned state of Kosova.

And think about this (Kurti style) maybe part of the EU deal to recognise Kosovo is also accepting of the fact that de facto Kosovo will be divided. I dont know if this is so but it might be.

In the end we are all pawns.

Do you really still believe that Kosova will be part of Serbia – maybe you need to wait until 17 Feb 08 to realize that is for real.

"Secondly, and more importantly, it shows the EU that there is no "good Serb" and "bad Serb":"

Actually there are bad Serbs. If the prime minister of Serbia calls the democratically elected prime minister of Kosova/o a terrorist, the he has called all the people of Kosova/o who the prime minister Thaci represent terrorists. As such nobody in their right mind would want to stay within a state that considers 2 million people terrorists. This is even more of a push for Albanians to separate from Serbia. This bad Serbian is doing the Serbs a disservice. You will not convince the people of Kosova/o to remain under Serbia if you keep calling the terrorist and of course you will not convince them to sit down and talk with either.

P.S Bill Clinton, Tony Blair and Madeline Albright were also convicted terrorists by the Serbian courts. What does that say about Serbia? Its a rhetorical question by the way. No need to answer it.

"We will not allow such a creation to exist, not even for a moment, rather it must be declared null and void the very moment it is illegally declared under the leadership of convicted terrorists,“ said the prime minister.

With that kind of language, how can you ever expect albanians to want to be part of Serbia???

Our leaders are democraticaly elected, and if you can't respect our leaders and you call them 'convicted terrorists' (despite the fact that none of our leaders have been convicted for terrorism), how are you ever going to respect our rights?

At the same time I would like thank Kostunica and others that think like him, because it is people like you that gave us independence, and it is people like that have convinced most of western countries that any offer from Belgrade means nothing.

We albanians love it when we see speeches like the one from Kostunica, because it proves our point: when it comes to albanians, serb politicians will never change their racist and distorted views and policies towards albanians. They haven't done it for the last 100 years and they won't do it now.

Thank you.

Olf, I wouldn't go so far as to say that Kosovo will be "forgotten" by the Serbian people by the Spring, since Belgrade will retain some control over Serb enclaves in Kosovo regardless of the outcome of Kosovo's status.

Yet at the same time, this united policy is really geared towards two objectives:

The first is to show that all parties, irregardless of internal disputes, hold a united policy over Kosovo. Tadic needs to stick to this, otherwise he risks losing parliamentary support. It also shows that in the event of a UDI, all Serb institutions will be coordinated in taking the proper steps to respond.

Secondly, and more importantly, it shows the EU that there is no "good Serb" and "bad Serb": there is just "Serbia" whether it's Tadic, Kostunica, Nikolic, or whoever. In other words, the EU can't cull favors out of Tadic any more than they can out of Kostunica. It basically sends the message that if Brussels wants Serbia within its ranks that badly, they're going to have to come up with a list of concessions to give Belgrade once Kosovo declares. This may very well be the tacit acceptance of the parallel institutions that will be set up after the declaration.

Serbia may not be able to stop, or even halt, Kosovo's secession, but it can surely alter the way Kosovo's resulting status and degree of sovereignty will look like. Conversely, the EU can make the push for Kosovo's secession and the setting up of a Provisional Government in Pristina, but they really can't force the K-Serbs to adhere to said government - at least not in the immediate future.

Once more I congratulate both Tadic and Kostunica on realising the enourmous task faced ahead by those who would once more 'attempt' to dimsmeber and partition the UN recognised Sovereign, European and Democratic Republic of Serbia.

United Serbia can withstand the illegal declarations and illegal recognition nullify and making void such folly!

There will be no legal Independce just a continuation of the Status Quo - the reality of this folly will be realised in the months ahead when the words of Ischinger run true "independence - you cant it eat it" !

It is clear that the divided EU has no control in Serbia's province and they are now imposing their default partition within a partition since the mission is all about 'control' of policing and judicial institutions of the ethnic-Albanins who request this overlordsip dependency upon themselves only while the loyal citizens of Serbia continue to uphold the legitmate soverignty of the republic of Serbia ever closer!

Guys, do you really think that Serbs are so immature to believe this.
However, with this scenario all political leader take the blame for loosing Kosova and than the life goes on as normal. New elections to be organised this spring etc, while Kosova issue will slowly be forgotten since it is not the priority of Serbia people.

While K-Serbs on the other hand would be integrated into K-Institutions since the Ahtisaari plan allows that and will never turn to Belgrade and their politicians. K-Serbs are fed up with being used for political gains of the Serbian politicians

This is what we all waited, unity of all political parties. They all must be together now when the country faces the real crisis. They all must take the responsibility so that no one can be left to blame afterwards and they should all have the support of Serbia’s citizens who should take the responsibility themselves as well. We all face the threats of dismemberment of our country. Let’s all be together and show the maturity in handling the most difficult moment in our country’s recent history. Let’s be all unified in defence of the country, in defence of the law. Let’s be all proud of who and what we are, and let’s proudly fight this moment by all peaceful means.
