Tadic made a very interesting speech in Munich tonight. There's a full account on the Tanjug site. Part of what he said was:

"I hope I have made myself clear to you about my vision and my resolve. I will not allow cynical ploys to deter me, nor can I afford to be transfixed by the whims of diplomatic convenience."

Now, what could he possibly be referring to there? Hmmmm.

Your so very WRONG my friend!

First, had Zoran Dzindzic lived, its well known within his close political pool that Jovanovic was going to be dismissed from the party.

Second, Dzindzic would have given the Muslim Albanians less than half of Kosovo and said take it or leave it! And if the Albanians chose to leave it then we would be in the very same situation we are in today!

Dzindzic was for partition, that's it!

I know these facts because I worked as a photographer for a well know Canadian Magazine covering Dzindzic. The journalist I was teamed up with had met Dzindzic on many of occasions for interviews,.. believe me my friend, Dzindzic was no friend of yours! He was a great patriot who put the interest of the Serbian people before the interest of the Albanians, EU and the US.

Yeah nice talk but where is the walk also? Do not forget that it's Tadic's party that is paralizing the government with unrealstic demands to 'consider agreements' with EU at this very difficult time for the state. The EU put that 'agreement' as a way to divide the government and paralize its responses while pushing Kosovo Albanians to declare 'independence'. All major parties that have majority of people behind them rejected the EU 'offer'. The Serbian Congress can introduce emergency rule to protect the Serbian state on its own initiative.

Jovanovic is true disgrace for Serbia and if Tadic abandon Kostunica in favour for LDP, I am sure he will be punished in next elections. LDP is obstacle for Serbia's happiness. There is no politician in this world of Ceda’s profile, there is no politician ready to sell out part of own country. I will be happy to see Cedomir disappearance from Serbia’s political scene. And he has courage enough to criticise anyone. Did he ever analyze himself, I wonder.

I just hope that Tadic and Kostunica will cool their heads and find some compromised solution. They should work together, because they make good team regardless of how absurd this might sound to anyone.

Tadic: "...it would be necessary for all state institutions to convene again, for each one to assume their share of the responsibility, and for the country to continue functioning in the best possible manner."

Tadic is perfectly correct here. Serbia must be united and stable as there are difficult times ahead. There are now no reasons why the cabinet cannot meet, because:
1. The EU deal has been put on the back burner.
2. Tadic has explicitly stated that any EU mission must be approved by the UNSC.

So now it is time for Kostunica to respond positively and get the state institutions back on the road. The present impasse is doing the Serbian state no good at all.

Princip, this is the attitude all Serbs should display. Finally a good action by Tadic. I would even go one step further and try to have Nikolic included in the discussions as well. This all goes beyond parties and coalitions. And even though I am 200% for a EU-treaty, that can wait a couple of weeks or even months.

If the Albanians really plan a UDI in the next 1-2 weeks, there should be no infighting but instead a common policy.
It wouldn't be the first time in Serbia's history that we're fighting amongst ourselves while others are taking away what belongs to us.
And Tadic is the one person who has both the position (as president) and the legitimity (elections last weekend) to forge the hard-needed unity.

How do you figure that? Yes, Kosovo is a difficult issue for Serbia but are Serbian politicians not entitled and indeed dutybound to try to protect and preserve it ? I would have thought they are at least until a negotiated solution is reached.

Wise move by Tadic,

knock the heads together and get on with upholding Serbia's sovereignity - that currently is the only priority of government otherwise what else is Serbia without is sovereignty!

The so called "friends" in the EU who would impose their will against Serbia need to be tolds in no uncertain terms that United Serbia cannot be expected to shake hands and sign agreements with those who simultaneously would chop off and amputate the other arm!

Bganon, it is at times like this that that Tadic's moderate tones provide the best future for Serbia and many should understand (myself included) now he was indeed the better candidate last Sunday for such precarious situations - leaving all doors open but not going through any just yet. However, equally were it not for Kostunica's inat (pesistant spite) there would have been little left of Serbian sovereignty to uphold - and that needs to be recognised and congratulated. I have said together they make an excellent team - United practically invincible against the EU disunity but they do need to work in tandem more effectivly - sadly maybe that is too much to expect from passionate polictians when sovereignty of the state is at stake!

Since when did Serbia vote to give 15% of its territory to the Albanians? The West is trying really hard to spin this around. Nikolic was all for the EU path also, but not at the expense of Kosovo!

You can be sure that Jovanovic is the mouthpiece of the West.

Liam

The LDP leader is right. Kostunica is the problem and offers no solutions. Though Serbs are tired of voting and broken promises, maybe another election is needed to get these negative obstructive selfish politicans out of the way of Serbia's future.

Cedomir Jovanovis is a politician of reality.
He used to be the right hand of Zoran Dzindzic.
He supports the reality on ground.
He supports Kosova's Independence as the only real solution to Kosova's future.
