The paralells to Munich couldn't be stronger, a billigerent ethnic minority claiming to be the victim of persecution and threatening a war if they don't get independence -- and the international community ready and willing to recognize that independence regardless of the wishes of the host country.

Hopefully the paralells don't end at 1938 Munich, lets hope that the Kosovo-Albanians continue to play the role of the Sudaten-Germans until we are drawing paralells to Sudetenland in 1945-46.

I would not use the same words but why is a part of Serbia cut off against the will of Serbia?

I mean, being from a civilized country, Holland, I really do not get this?

Let's protect international law! Give the Kosovars all autonomy they want (like Basques in Spain) but not more!

And to EA: for the 100th time: why Kosovo should be unique?

Let's intervene in Tibet now, give them 8 years of UN government and the cut it off from China. OK?

Blero, Kosovo Albanians will not be able to speak about humanity not even in hundred years.

(Bob Petrovich, 4 February 2008 06:28)

I had a taste of my own medicine and it is bitter.
Are you expecting something like … Serbia will not be able to speak about humanity not even in two hundred years.
I am really impressed with the numbers that you put forward (in the same par with A92).
More than 1000 people killed by Kosovo Albanian “terrorists” in 1999.
And then, 1000 more Albanians killed by Albanians (poor you, shedding crocodile tears for Albanians).
Wow, did you read this in Serbianna.com?
Your views of what went/goes on in Kosova are impressive.
A “best seller” material.
One note though, please do not try to sell it to people that lived through it.
Committing a crime and ignoring a crime are in a same par.
You can put any layer of lacquer you wish, you can blame anybody you want.
We know the truth, we have been there.
We have lost family members, and we are still looking for the ones still missing.
So please, stop pretending, it just makes victim families even angrier.
And since we happily kill our own why don’t we do the following:
Why don’t you then let Kosova be alone, we kill each other (Albanians kill Albanians) and Kosova becomes Serbia “once more”. Job done.

Don't turn this into an ethnic issue. You know perfectly well who started the war back in 1939 and who was responsible for their own fate. It is exactly the same as what happened after the 1999 conflict in Kosovo.

Blero, Kosovo Albanians will not be able to speak about humanity not even in hundred years.

Before 1999 Kosovo Albanian terrorists murdered more than 1000 people. After 1999 they murdered more than 1000 ALBANIANS alone. The entire ALbanian families were wiped out and tossed into the garbage dump. Adem Demaci called it great Albanian shame. And Albanians are silent about it, as it has not happened.

Having this in mind and shameful Kosovo Albanian behavior during WWII, you will NEVER be able to lecture anyone about humanity. Only about duplicity.

Here is your opportunity to clean your name: Speak up about more than 1000 Albanians murdrered under the orders of Thaqi and Haradinaj.

"The diplomat reiterated that it was humiliating for Serbia that “the world continues to blame them for what happened in the Balkans, even though the other protagonists in the conflict were equally to blame.”
I guess Mr. Jiri Dinstbier, has been frozen during nineties. How immoral is his comment, blaming equally the victim and the aggressor.
Talking about humiliation, saying it is humiliating to Serbia that the world blames them. Worried, that Serbia feels humiliated because the world blames Serbs. Well, let me kill some people and Jiri Dinstbier will say that I would feel humiliated because of condemnation by the society.
This is new to me. Never heard this before, that we should worry because that the aggressor might feel humiliated. The only time that I might think of that the aggressor might feel humiliated is if they did not achieve the goal of wiping out entire nation. Seems to me that Jiri D. is humiliated because Kosova Albanians survived the war and were able to defend their identity, or maybe because they were able to come back home after expulsion of 1 million people. To Mr. J.D massive graves are not humiliating, massacred children women and elderly are not humiliating to the distinguished diplomat.
I can’t believe in what kind of world we live in, diplomats like J.D should be a guideline to a better world, instead he makes some idiotic comments, by the way that’s humiliating.
I thought that when the diplomats get near the finish line of their career, they tend to leave a legacy. J.D is leaving a bad one. Well in the diplomatic circles he trashed himself with this comment, and what a shame at age 70 to ruin everything he worked for.
J.D, remember, Kosova will get independence, and you are welcomed to celebrate it with us in Prishtina, we will not humiliate you by asking you to elaborate in respect to your comment you just did.
Ksova Independence coming soon, cheers everybody, cheers.

It is nice to know that massacres can be classified as collateral.
I am also impressed with the number you put forward (3000).
Is that for one city alone you are referring to?
And yes, where would we be without the infamous SS Skanderbeg.
It is a very thin straw you are holding to, A92.
The times when Serbia can lecture about humanity, well maybe in 100 years (I said, maybe).

Interesting how Mr. Dienstbier is "forgeting" how well Czechoslovakia violated the international law 7 years after Munich (with the blessing of the Allies) by expelling all the Ethnic Germans and some thousands Hungarians from their homes in the territory of Czechoslovakia. I guess is OK humiliating non-slavic nations, but is not OK humiliating slavic nations. It must be somewhere in the "international law" written who is allowed to be humiliated and who not, but I am missing that paragraph.

Yes, what happened with Munich resembles the current situation in Kosovo.

Hitler, bent on cleansing ethnic minorities within his realm, can be compared to Milosevic who tried to cleanse ethnic Albanians.

Thus, if Kosovo is not granted independence, all we would be doing is praising Milosevic for what he tried to do. We must not appease these ruthless genocidal maniacs. Kosovo independence should serve as a reminder that when a majority resorts to tyrannical acts, there would be repercussions.

Tell Serbian propaganda that there is a flip side to that coin.

Your comment makes no sense since this man is telling nothing but truth and traumas that Czechoslovakians experienced in the past. I am disappointed by Europe's role in WWII. When I say Europe I have France and UK in my mind as so called European powers. Their role in WWII was shameful as they kept quiet over the vents that took place prior to war and during the war.

This was very good parallel and Europe once again choose to play chicken’s role while USA, Germany, UK and France are running the show.
