19 people were killed in March 2004. 8 were Serbs killed by Albanian extremists - acts which of course ought to be utterly condemned, and were repeatedly by Kosovar leaders, especially by people like Thaci who went out into the streets personally to send the mobs home. Despite the difference in scale between the killing of these 8 Serbs and the killing of 12000 Albanians by Serbian state forces in 1999.

The other 11 killed were among these Albanian rioters shot dead by NATO troops.

How these simple facts have any relation to the rendition of this issue put here by Serb posters is beyond me. But then who ever said that Serbian nationalists up in Belgrade or scattered across wetsrn capitals give much about the real issues facing anyone in Kosova, including, or especially, the K Serbs

These same assurances were given in 1999, in 200 and in 2004. The simple fact is KFOR will not protect people & if they do the Germans are least likely to do so.

When the protests in 2004 happenned the Germans did nothing to stop the violence.

Ratko, bmrusila,

Don't worry, there'll be no repetition of March 2004.

And none of Vukovar, Dubrovnik, Sarajevo or Srebrenica either!

As bad as it sounds, there were 19 deaths, from whom most were Albanians. There were churches destroyed, an act that was condemned after all from all of us Albanians.

It's very sickening that some individuals try to bring these sad moments as the culprit of what has caused the "great divide". Whatever happened in 2004, and I repeat all of us condemn it, it's simply too weak to counter the massacres of a decade ago commited by the serb military and paramilitary. Some individuals like this "brumsila" go as far as to state that there were fake mass graves created by internationals, i quote "in Serbia proper", and then again this individuals cannot stop asking for revenge about less than a dozen serbs killed in the riots of 2004.

This only shows the level and the quality of understanding of an ultra-nationalist about the entire historical reality of the region. In other words these creatures will never accept any wrong doing, nor will they ever recognize the crimes committed in the name of Serbian people, let along condemning those crimes. Their blunt blindness is only a continuous warning of what it would be if these individuals held in their hands the fate of K-Albanians.

As I recall more Albanian civilians got killed then Serbians. Who exactly was the victim?
(Kreshnik Bejko,

Albanians incited the violence and thus they cannot be the victims (as they never were on any occasion). Of course you see your criminals as victims but we cannot see them that way. Spare us of those "victim" fabricated stories.

Greek and Romanian Special Forces in close cooperation with the Serb self defense forces must be stationed in all Serb areas of Kosovo in order to repel what are sure to be fierce attacks from KLA/Al Qaeda once the UDI is declared but will not have any effect in areas not under KLA control. The Germans may very well have to show their fighting abilities once the KLA turns their guns on them out of frustration of not being able to exert any control over areas remaining loyal to the Serb state.

there will be no repeat of 2004,“ when international forces were unable to prevent extremist Albanians attacking Serb civilians.

It's good that they know what one of the most critical elements of this whole independence issue is, especially since this minority is found where most of the country's natural resources are to be found.

One the other hand, I doubt the Albanians would be that stupid to commit violence against the Serbs when they get independence, unless they want foreign forces and organizations to stay there.

A pity then that the Germans did not have such scruples in 1914, 1941, and 1999, and no prospect of any kind of an apology from the Germans either. How many Serbian civilians, for example, did the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe have to slaughter from 1941-45 in order for the Serbs to get an apology from them? Not enough so far as I can tell.

If I’ve could only believe foreign soldiers and their good intention. They failed to protect civilians so many times in this unfortunate Balkan region that I cannot trust them any longer. After Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo, Serbs cannot count on their help and wonder how our minister can trust them. If violence breaks out, KFOR soldiers will just take all measures to protect themselves, not civilians. NATO soldiers cannot be trusted.
