I think you are confused. My country is in the EU and Moscow is certainly not my master. Telling a Pole that Moscow is his master is actually an insult.
(Peter Sudyka, 30 January 2008 14:02)

peter,
i was under the impression you were serbian since you seem to bend over backwards for them on these matters. i suggest you sign off on your comments as "peter the pole" so as to avoid any further confusion. :)

When a foreign leader tries to cause a change in the border with the country next door, that is an act of war. Go read international law.
(JohnBoy, 30 January 2008 08:19)

if we go by your logic, serbia plans on going to war w/the vast majority of europe.

shqarthi, never underestimate people's desiree to have better life. It will work. That's the secret Serbian plan: only who has 'inat' will stay. We can also look at it optimistically: at least, the quality of food in UK will drastically improve.

How about Green Card Lottery? That would work, too. Here in the US even if every family from Kosovo would send 56 children, that's still not enough cooks and conditors to improve the situation. Come here and experience first-hand the gastronomic "pleasures" in the States. :(

"Is territory of Kosovo part of the package? If yes, Kosovo-problem will be "solved" within weeks: everyone will get Serbian passport and disappear in Europe. Given their attitude towards papers/ID/etc. the prime target of immigration will be probably UK"
Ataman

Hey Ataman, that kind of "solution" has never worked. It has been tried, but has always failed. Each family having 56 children, 23 go to the west and the rest remain in place.

Ataman

I have a question. It is well-known, in lieu of SAA, Serbia received a package from EU to be signed. The full abolishment of visa regime is part of that package.

Now:

- Is territory of Kosovo part of the package? If yes, Kosovo-problem will be "solved" within weeks: everyone will get Serbian passport and disappear in Europe. Given their attitude towards papers/ID/etc. the prime target of immigration will be probably UK.

- If the territory of Kosovo is not included, than E.U. can be accused to create two class of Serbian citizen: the "upper class" and "underdogs". Besides being a very questionable thing, that sort of agreement would be an hidden initiative for the "underdogs" to become "first class" (i.e. resolve the province status within Serbian borders).

Just an idea, but if we would see that paperwork what was offered in lieu of SAA that would provide maybe more hints than what Albanian FM does say. After all, Kosovars won't target Albania with mass immigration no matter what happens.

mike,
speaking of crying, kosove has a lot of boxed kleenex leftover from the international aid we received to wipe away all the tears belgrade bestowed onto us albanians. i think that will be our first export to serbia once UDI is declared. enjoy!

Oops, looks like FM Basha missed this little diddy: "Ceku adviser: Kosovo won't have full independence"

Though I have to admit it is kind of cute when the EU gives the slightest hint that independence may be delayed or even downgraded, the usual talking heads in Pristina come out and proclaim that independence will happen in the next 10 minutes or so.

After a while, the rest of us ignore you crying wolf.

This is really getting tiring, why don't they stop saying they will do something and just act? A true independent nation they claim they will be, yet they are waiting like a dog on a leash for their EU/US master to take them for a walk?

They have been saying this for ages now. This is just one, long stalemate, Kosovar Albanians here saying "Kosova will be independent on the [insert random date]" and Serbs say "No independence without UNSC and 1244". Boring!
(Peter Sudyka, 29 January 2008 15:45)

peter,
i'm surprised to see that you're in such a hurry? don't go worrying about our "master." i suggest you assume the position for your new lord in moscow.

You know what is the funniest thing when you see these comments here is that even serbs last their pation about declaring Kosova independence, so now we are in the same situation, hmmm well it is hard to wait isn't it? But one thing will happen for sure which is Independence of Kosova, when I don't know it and is not very important for me because I can kill my self now thinking about it and nothing will change I'll just leave that to ones that I've vote for, they get paid do worry about it don’t they?. Chill out guys everything will be fine, world have more then 100 countries it will not make that much difference for one more. Continue living your life and enjoy while you can.

Let me tell you from the very trustful source that independence will be announced not before late April or early May. This, due carefully preparation of the legislative construction for the new incoming EU mission, preparing all other structural and formal governmental capacity (foreign ministry, ministry of defense etc), then carefully preparations on all possible actions taken by Serbia against Kosova, as well as adopting new symbols for newly formed state etc etc…
You can clearly see that it is impossible to declare independence just like that, as it will implicate several other measures to be taken prior to that, and there is no room for mistakes.
We will all (hopefully, if we all are alive) witness the independence day sometime at the end of April or beginning of May 2008. God bless Kosova and its people.

The time to move forward was lost when the Albanians decided (or were told) to stop negotiating and to lay their hopes on "Independence". NATO, the US, UK and Germany have lied and your dreams will continue to be diluted.

Independance in a few days they said. Well, those few days have come and gone. Now its extended to a few weeks. Then it will be extended to a few months and before you know it, its 2009 and nothing has happened.
