It's a relief to read that for once, Amnesty International is concidered about what is going on to the Serbs in the Balkans...

For KS: the difference between you and us is that we do admit that attrocities were commited against the Albanians in Kosovo. On the other hand, listening to you, not one single Serb was killed in Kosovo...

Which makes me wonder, why is Haradinaj in The Hague? Must be because he likes being in jail.

The other difference between us is that we have sent to The Hague war criminals while you guys have voted for your criminals to be Prime Ministers, etc...

KS, if you’re going to “report” on the article, at least use correct facts or at least source them.

http://www.b92.net/eng/news/society-article.php?yyyy=2007&mm=04&dd=27&nav_category=102&nav_id=40930

For the record, the current estimate is 2,087 still missing from the Kosovo conflict. 1300 are Albanians and 700 are Serbs or minorities, so more than 700 are obviously in Albanian controlled territory. So clearly a HUGE portion (at least half) of the Serbian causalities are still missing and their abusers still roam free.

The ratio of Albanian victims to Serbian victims is 10 to 1, which mirrors the population exactly. So it was not as one sided as you make it seem.

Clearly Serbia has been harshly punished in a variety of ways for the crimes committed by the Milosevic regime including but not limited to NATO bombing, sanctions, the Hague, massive ethnic cleansing committed against our people and the possible loss of what we consider to be the cradle of our civilization.

What punishment has been meted out to those in the KLA who committed crimes? Not much from what I’ve seen, and Amnesty International agrees with me.

However, I truly feel badly for what innocent civilians in Kosovo suffered, regardless of which side. If there was any way I could make it up to your people I would do so. There’s been enough hatred and bloodshed in the Balkans. Its time both our people take a hard look at ourselves and how we’ve treated one another over the years and make some serious apologies so we can move forward.

TO KS -

You may very well be "reporting on the article", but as history has repeated itself, you have strayed from articles at hand. Point being - when it benefits you, you slam the Serbs, but when confronted, you are not willing to answer the question posed.

So, what is your take on it? We're not trying you in a jury, just posing a question as you have done time & time again.

Please reply to bmrusila's comment OR are you a one dimensional creature of habit?

In case you missed it, Amnesty International are singling out Albanian crimes here presumably against Serbs, ethnic minorities and against other Albanians. This includes rape, murder and other horrendous crimes. These are going unpunished and don't you think you need to do something about it? I mean, what do you think some nations on the verge of supporting Albanians will do? After this report, do you think they will offer support?

So your defence is to talk about murders that occured 10 years ago during war whereas the Albanians are still murdering and raping during peace and going unpunished?

Come on, get real will you. No wonder Kosovo needs supervision, and I can't see that supervision ending anytime soon.

This is the main factor why Kosovo should get the independency as soon as possible.
The crimes that the Serb soldier and their police committed against the innocent civilian are well know and documented.
The civilised word was shocked beyond believe by the mass murder and ethnical cleansing happened in Kosovo in late 90’.
I have the same opinion with Amnesty International regarding this matter. The International community in Pristine failed to properly address these crimes against humanity.
The politician in Serbia and the nationalist can not hide beyond the ghost of Milosevic.
They can’t just blame everything to him and proclaim that no one is to blame.
Time as come to put a stop to nicely approach adopted from the West with Serbia.
They need to be “cut & clean” and properly explain to the Serbs politician that they will not have free pass to EU without all the criminals behind bars.
It should never be aloud that a country that guard and hide war criminals to join EU or travelling without visa in EU.
An excellent example of this was the Dutch government reaction a few days ago.
Also the million of euros that the Serb government get from EU and the West every year should be conditioned.
There should be no place in a civilised West for Nationalist Serbs.

KS, It's funny that in your mind only K-Albanian died, not one Serb. Albanian criminals roam the streets of Pristna and run the gov there. All with blood on their hands. Both side did bad things during 99 but you try to justify that the Albanian side killed civilians as part of a fight for freedom from the big bad Serbs. Can you find out for me where some of my family is, missing since 99. We want to have a proper funeral for them. Oh I'm sorry only Albanians died in that war no Serb were harmed, by the peace loving Albanians. Give me a break and stop fooling yourself that the muders commited by the KLA were justified and the Albanians were the only victims.

KS,

How come that you forgot to mention those 1500 Serbs still missing! Their murderers roaming the streets of Kosovo, or perhaps the streets of Albania. The IC must check those Hodxa's bunkers in Albania. Great pieces of Hohxa's style Byzantine architecture of yours.

KS

I'm glad you Serbs feel this way because the victims that the report highlights are the Kosovars and how little is done to capture their oppressors who are roaming the streets of Belgrade.

Over 2,000 Kosovars still are missing somewhere in Serbia proper. They could have been exhumed and returned by now if Serbian officials cooperated and UNMIK wasn't so corrupt. (Preventing the process to stay in Kosova longer).

Amnesty International's report, "Kosovo (Serbia):The challenge to fix a failed UN justice mission,

- lets repeat that just in case some commentators don't get it;

Kosovo (SERBIA):....a failed UN justice mission,

The report is extensive and highlights that continued Adminsitrators since Kouchner onwards to the present ineffectual Ruecker have FAILED to achieve anything what so ever in that time !!!

It is highly unlikely that the EU mission would fair any better since it would require a UN resolution i.e. Serbian consent to even stand a chance.

In fact it is well known that even with a UN resolution much anticipated by the US and "few" EU (who thought they could push everyone aside) that such a mission was highly unlikely to succede even if passed in the UN last year;

"IEP, which specializes in studying European integration, is a scathing critique of the security situation and the future prospects for development in Kosovo.

The study, commissioned by the German army, says the European Union's security strategy for a future mission in Kosovo is "neither analytically nor conceptually sustainable." The "false belief" in the blessing of independence is pushing "hopes for a leap in prosperity to unrealistic levels," it writes. Instead, any setback threatens to result in "serious unrest if not revolutionary-like upheavals.""
The Failure of the West's 'Ostrich' Policy
http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,471178,00.html

Ilegal unilateral declarations of Dependence will bring far greater instability then Status Quo - oh but then the US and a "few" EU states have shown that they really do know what is best as exemplified by their illegal war waged against Serbia and the result of their 8 year occupation - the huge succes that that has been!!!

Oh what a tangled web we weave......
