I think that Serbia has lost Kosovo. Serbia should now concentrate on meeting the conditions for joining the European Union.

Generally, I am closer to thinking of Mr.Tadić- but in this case I think Mr.Kostunica has a better strategy. Issue is that Mr. Tadićs "defense" of KIM is more complex then what Mr.Kosštunica suggests. And usually simpler solutions are also - better and stronger. Rejecting SAA agreement simply means - postponement - not isolation. There is no much drama in that. Primary "engine" for KIM independence is not EU - but US. And things are going to change in US - with next president or in few more years after. It is question of only few years when China will became economically stronger then US. Asia is becoming the economical power-house of the world. It will be the biggest market in the wold. It is not isolationism to look towards East as well. It is just wise planning. As economical power of US start fading in comparison to Asia - it's political leverage will also be weakened. We will then see coming new era in the world. Values will change - and perspective of Balkans as well. It will bring better times for Serbia also.

As an albanian im loving this moment when serbian political partys arnt geting along. And giving away there their oil industry to russia as a desperate atempt to stop kosovo indipendants..puts a smile on my face..

You've hit the nail on the head with the quote from Dr Darko Trifunovic..
Serbia is being forced into this debacle quite cunningly by the US State Department.

IMHO it's a terrible short sighted policy that doesn't help foster US longterm goals in the Balkans..

To add the quote of St. Sava is the icing on the cake..

Happy St. Sava's Day to everybody !!!

Afrim, Kostunica is not declaring independence. He is saying that Albanians will declareit. Far cry from delcaring it himself. It is only your wishful thinking.

You can declare independence all you like, but getting it is not going to happen. Where did he say he supported it or you are going to get it? Putting words in his mouth is only wishful thinking on your part.

Good luck ,Serbia is badly divided and its politics. It all begins with the horrendous happenings of the 1990s. Some want to reconcile the era while others wholeheartedly are justifying what happened and build on it and continue as everything is normal. Which it is not Serbia is being torn in to two camps and the divisions are getting bigger and the animosity is building the divide is widening between them hope it dose not turn in to a permanent state of affairs or in to intractable violents.

"We are nearing the crucial moment when Kosovo's independence will be declared. The time is running out and we thought it was high time to tell this to our coalition partners," Koštunica was quoted.

That is true. The crucial moment is in fact coming when Kosova declares its Independence.
Now that even Kostunica declares it, I hope that some serb posters here acknowledge the fact that Kosova will in fact delcare Independence.
thanks

Dear Bmrusila,

We thank you for your patience and contribution and hope to have the entire portal up and running faster and better than before very shortly.

I don't see either what is so disputable in that annex that Mr Kostunica proposed so that Tadic could not possibly accept it. However, if Djelic sign SAA then Mr Kostunica should resign and let Tadic and et al to do what ever pleases them. Mr Kostunica and his party should distance themselves from the puppets and make sure history doesn’t judge him. Mr Kostunica is the master mind for all of them and first class politician. All that it has been done so far, it is done thanks to Mr Kostunica. If it wasn’t for Kostunica, Kosovo would be gone already. Pity, Kostunica, Jeremic and Tadic were great team.

b92 please, can you do something to your site. It seems something is wrong, it is so slow. Thank you

Kostunica is absolutely right - the EU need to be given a clear and unequivocal message that Serbia will not be party to those who would dismember and partition it.

“Serbia has been turned over to Russia not by its choice, because the West views and targets Serbia as a part of the Russian interest zone,” Dr Darko Trifunovic, 25/11/07 Kurir
http://www.kurir-info.co.yu/clanak/kurir-25-11-2007/ruski-stit

Today of all days all Serbs heed the words of our Patron Saint;

At first we were confused. The East thought that we were West, while the West considered us to be East. Some of us misunderstood our place in the clash of currents, so they cried that we belong to neither side, and others that we belong exclusively to one side or the other. But I tell you, Ireneus, we are doomed by fate to be the East in the West and the West in the East, to acknowledge only heavenly Jerusalem beyond us, and here on earth--no one. ”
—St. Sava to Irenaeus, 13th Century

Mr. Kostunica is absolutely right. This annex is not a blackmail, it is proposition and in my opinion very smart.

It is clear that sending EU mission to Kosovo is a prelude to independence of province and implementation of Martti A. plan.

Rejection by Tadic uncover his real intentions of giving up Kosovo and surrounding to EU.
