@KS, What you mean with constitution and army? The EU (France and the Netherlands, proud to be one!) already rejected 2 years ago the EU constitution and it was already decided long time ago it will never be there! So, what dreams you have or are you just not reading? Seems to me. You are always the first to react (not much work on your job I assume) but if your reactions are worth reading, I don't think so.

bmrusila, right on. The reason Kate gets so many ticks is because she makes sense. Now if KS made more sense, perhaps he would get a tick of approval now and then.

There is nothing stopping the Albanian camp approving each other's comments if they agree, so what's his problem with us approving Kate's?

BTW, Kate is a very level headed and intelligent individual. Obviously too much of a threat to KS.

Kate, keep going. We appreciate your input.

KS-I wonder, when I see something radical that a poster like Kate gets and the votes she receives...do that many people agree with her, or are Serb Camp vote for each other?

- Kate radica???? My Goodness, everyone who oppose Albanian cause must be radica? Oh waht a mind you have, the one could envy you, but not me or any rationale thinking persons.

Albanans may make you a hero of the day after this statement.

Tom , i think is little to late for them to get on the plane and visit European countries , including your beloved country.
Bob, lets see if your mother Russia will make a stuppid move like they did in 1999 in Prishtina Airport and after 2-3 days they were starving and British soldiers had to provide bottles with water and sandwiches to Russian soldiers.

I guess some of you are confused. It really doesn't matter who is the sitting president of the USA. Bush, Clinton, Obama or McCain they will all support Kosovars Independence. Like it or not they are the only superpower remaining. They sneeze and the whole world takes the flu vaccine. The only ting Russia has going on is oil and that's not enough. China is moving upwards very solidly and its going to be interesting how things develop over there.
Before I go way off base my point is that Kosovo/a will be recognized like an independent state probably from more then 2/3 of countries. Serbia cant rule it and they know it, its just a show. Closing the border will do more harm to Serbia then anybody else. An responsible country would want to keep in touch with the Serbs there and the old churches that it cherishes so much. Transition times are not easy but the future might still be bright. I hope the next generations will look down at this as a lesson that they do not need to repeat. Love and Peace

Europe everyday is becoming stronger and stronger. EU is becoming a driving force. Things may seem blue now but the real progress will be made in the future as the new block catches up with the old block. With a constitution, and an army, both which will come faster than you imagine the EU will be a destructive force.

I wonder why this has become a matter of urgency.

Could it be they need to make a final blow against Serbia before they are booted out? Sort of like a last twitch of a man dying.

Bush's desperation has become so obvious. Sorry Bush, you are going to go without thanks from Albania.

The more urgent this becomes, the more desperate the US looks.

Living in the EU I am beginning to despair about the entire European project. But still there is some hope. Only four or five EU countries have said they want an independent Kosovo. Six or seven have said they don't.

Now it is time for Kostunica, Jeremic and other government ministers to get on an aeroplane and visit all the EU states that have said nothing. I include my own country, Ireland, in this. I'm sure this could be arranged at short notice.

The Serbian case is rock solid, so take it across Europe.

Leonidas

Having failed miserably on all foreign policy issues the
Bush mantra now tries to blackmail the EU countries into recognising an illegal
entity that is called Kosovo.
The good news are the EU is not united and this why they
cannot announce a common policy on the issue. Also the
timing of the US announcement
is designed to put pressure on Serbian electorate in order to change their voting
intentions inthe presidential
elections.
To my Serbian friends i would
suggest to hold tight fight
and no surrender.

Dragan,

Who lied to you that Kosova belongs to Serbia historically.....? Get out of the box my friend it is time to move on with your live. What is moral for you and some like you here to destroy an entire region that you call your country and ethnically cleanse your "own" population. Don't listen to "patriarch" Artemije....he is too old to be a politian....

Everybody should look at the past and read some history book in order to build a better and solid future. However it is wrong if you look at the history in order to revive the past, to wake up old devils and to reproduce the same terrible mistakes.
Look at the past and learn from our errors, this is the way!

Keep calming yourselves up guys...fact remains, things are being pushed through, and stopping them is simply impossible! :)

Russia and the UNSC or Congo can take the backseat now and watch how things are done even without their support!

Poor Putin, worked so hard to prove that his Russia is so powerful, mmmm...doesn't seem like any important countries are buying into that.

Only a bunch of wishful thinkers around the B92 boards.

Rosemary Di Carlo is another unsung genius from Department of State.

Her "plan" is made is brilliant. Let me explain. There is 6 hours difference between Serbia and NYC.

If Kosovo Albanian extremists declare independence on Sunday, Serbia has the whole day Sunday + 6 hours Monday to react.

Under UN Charter, attacked country has the right to call for assistance other UN members UNTIL UNSEC meets.

Serbia only has to pick up the phone. Putin has affirmed that Russia will not allow violation of the international law.

EU knows that and decided to back off. It is interested how internal memo of Slovenian government ended up in German-owned Politika.

The invisible EU hand made a laughingstock of Department of State. Today, EU mission was called off.

Bush Jr. started his first team hoping to become new Ronald Reagan. Owing to "geniuses" in Department of State, he will end the term as Ronald. Ronald McDonald.

They can push for their illegal and immoral 'greater albania' plan all they want, but the fact is that Kosovo is not theirs to give. Kosovo belongs to Serbia, legally, historically, and morally. If Condi would like to reward albanian ethnic cleansing of Serbs, she can give them a part of her own country. We Serbs have nothing against her giving albanians a piece of, say, Alaska. Be my guest.
I hate to digress, but Bravo Nole!! Bravo Ana!! And let's not forget Nenad Zimonjic who is in the finals in mixed doubles. Bravo Nele!! This is an amazing achievement and I can already foresee huge street parties in Belgrade.

Europe is proving itself inept and weak. The EU is letting the US walk all over them and make moves which are going to affect our continent for generations to come.

“Turkey, as well as in Arab states that had expressed, according to Fried, readiness to recognize Kosovo.”

I wonder why that could be, Mr Fried? I think you should read some history books and hang your head in shame.

The beginning of Kosovo as an independent state. The beginning of a new area of fairness and equal opportunity. Now we can truly start to rebuild trust and bridges between our countries, populations, and cultures. If we fail to do so, the next generation will have someone to blame but they will inevitability be enslaves of the mentalities that for centuries are putting the Balkans on fire! Good luck Serbia and good luck Kosovo!
