Who is Spain anyway? They are not important, Taiwan that said they would recognize "kosova" is.
"Kosovoa independence by the 10th dec 2007, bla bl bla

Good luck Kosovo albanians, maybe you could strike a deal with Hamas leadership in Gaza, they have a good knowledge of what it is to be fooling their people and living under a blockade. Ohh, I forgot the highway that will possbilby be build in 15 years, but good luck with that if you could find financing for it. I sure that US and Britain would love to pay for it...

"The creation of an independent state for Kosovo Albanians will set a precedent for many parts of Europe with minorities who, often without reason, consider themselves discriminated," the daily wrote.
Well said, and I totally agree as Albanian. There is just one difference: "WE HAVE REASONS!!!"

basque, scotland and all the other places you are talking, have not had 80pc of their land and houses burned, have not had their women raped, their children killed!
The great differenc is due to what you ,serbs, have done in kosova.
And whatever any country has to say to our independance, what matters is wht we albanians think of living in the same country with you.And i tell you NO,NEVER AGAIN.

Spain has its own Basque problems. The difference is that the Basque have infinitely more right to be independent than Albanians.
We can also name few others who have infinitely more rights to be independent than Albanians - North Ireland, Scotland, Basque, Quebec, Texas, California...etc.

I am really confused about the comments.
Albanians are telling us that KosovO is gonna be independent for the past 8 years, yet nothing has happened. 10th dec came and gone and Albanians are still where they were 10 years ago.
If Independence was that easy, that 'just' and that inevitable, it would already have been released.
It is time to stop believing your own lies.

The EU member states are finally being vocal about the current status of KosovO & bravo to them.

Awww, well nothing to be done now.

Go back to your flamengos and let the big dawgs do the real fighting.

Earth (Read EUROPE) in upheaval!
Spain`s position is loud, sound and clear!

Do we all really have to wait another 50 years to find out openly and publicly why this serious mistake of granting Kosovo independence and disassembling one sovereign country, Serbia, was necessary?!?

Serbia's gross and systematic violation of human rights has breached every possible law that affect every precept of humanity.

Kosova will become independent soon regardless of what Spain has to say.

The US folly promoted by the "few" EU countries will if enforced create the greatest level of instability in years to come - for those who believe that this will bring a more prosperous life then the last 8 years in Serbia's province will wish they had status quo back - illegal declarations of Dependence will remain just that illegal and this will be a far worse limbo then the last 8 years. The whole world will know and realise that the likes of the US and "few" EU have no principle and will lose the last ounce of credibility they have. It is likely that this will make many of the smaller states in the EU re-consider their situation and it would not surprise me if some now went for the juggular and called Referndums to ratify Lisbon knowing what this will result in !!!

Oh what a tangled web we weave....

As I had written it in a prior post...

those articles will come more frequently and in an increased number..

and, since the italian government is about to fall apart... let´s see whether the Italians will support that illegal project of a greater Albania...

don´t think so.

And Spain is not heard or listened to by anyone in the EU.
Most of Eruopean countries will regret joining the EU because they willingly subordinated themselves to the US and it's lackies.

This is just a taste of what's to come and let this be a warning to all of Europe. Either fall in line with the US and Germany or you will be dealt with the same way as Serbia has.

Looks to me like the "less important" countries of Europe will have to rebel.
This will only strengthen their ties to Serbia.

First of all, there is no such thing as a 'negotiated outcome' as the differences are irreconcilable, and most europeans are simply not willing to allow anymore negotiating time because of serbias attrocities during 1980's and 1990's of which magnitude unwitnessed since 1945.

Spain is endeavouring to remain demographically homogeneous internally, whilst not considering the will of the kosovars to be independent from serbian oppression. This is simply showing how inadequate they are in solving internal issues; by opposing the majority of the european union JUST to set an example to their own breakaway province. surely they can be more innovative?

What else can I add to this? It shows that Serbia's and Russia's position on the Kosovo matter are not some kind of made-up thought to scare people, but to look at things in a real and realistic way. The fact that these kinds of articles start to appear in EU countries' newspapers can be a sign that people finally start to realize the consequences of the decisions that a few EU countries and the US try to make, while the EU constantly preaches that it is so democratic. Serbia outside of the EU will be better for its future as a souvereign country. Otherwise one day it will be a German province (or state to be more accurately) and a few days ago somebody commented that Serbia did not suffer through two World Wars to have that happen (the suffering was to prevent that from happening and one cannot betray and forget all the people who gave their lives or whose lives were taken from them in the battle against evil that is still around and that is still eyeing to destroy Serbia).
