Russia should be much clearer on this:

Illegal (!) recognicion of Kosovo would be followed by an IMMEDIATE recognicion of Abkhazia and Ossetia. Immediatelly!

Sorry Serbia. So why not: sorry Georgia?

The Ossetians DO NOT want to be part of Georgia....

The will of the people? Or is that only valid in cafe of Kosovo.

No deal for Kosovo.
So no independence!

OR: a deal for all areas that want to split of. Let's start with Taiwan and Tibet!!!

well, to be honest, ...I don´t see them "verging" at all.

Romania just reiterated it, even quite clearly...

then Greece is reiterating it...

in todays hungarian newspaper "Nepszava" in Budapest, they write that the election-victory for Mr.Nikolic should be seen as a "slap in the face" for the EU´s Serbia-policy. one of the reasons that newspaper mentions is the illegal promise of onesided recognition of a unilateral "declaration" of the K-albanians. they said that with Nikolic´s victory, Russia has lead a heavy blow to the EU, and in addition to that, they signed an agreement over the serbian engergy-market.

the comment ends with the words: " Brussels must change it´s Serbia-policy immediately".

so, all in all... I just ask myself where do those folks get that impression of anything verging here from???

amazing!

"Whatever its final status, violent Serbs and Albanian diehards will not be satisfied."

I think this sentence quoted by some newspaper, will be the outcome.

"Opinions continue to differ as to when Kosovo independence should be recognized,"

the keyword here is WHEN. it´s not a matter of if kosovo is going to become indipendant but when.

According to the German radio station, the U.S. official - who asked to remain anonymous - said that the talks had been constructive, though disagreement remained over timeframes

-That is how it is going to be till forever. Why don't they just admit that there will be no any legal and with all its attributes independence. The unified stand within EU won't be reached, the unified stand within UNSC won't be reached. Serbia won't sign anything regardless of imposing any sort of pressure. There are too many disagreements and obstacles and every other forcful way in imposing solution will only lead to the possible bloodshed and certainly to long term instability. And again anonymous source!
