The most freedom you will achieve is by accepting the Serbian offer of a large degree of Autonomy. The alternative is to obey your new rulers "NATO". There will be no freedom in Kosovo no matter how you look at it.
(ZK UK, 23 January 2008 15:49)

ZK,

If it is ok with you we would like to opt with the second option (the alternative, as you put it).
You see, the “old rulers” brought nothing but misery, tortures and death.

Why do these Kosovar's keep waving the Albanian flag and have Albanian insignia on their uniforms? Would it be that Albanians are attempting to create another Albanian state? Not only in Serbia but in Macedonia. How many countries do you guys want? Or is the plan a greater Albania?

I mean, you have the Kurds in Turkey and Iraq who would like freedom. They don't have their own country but it seems the Albanians want 3 or more at the expense of others. Are you seriously trying to say that the Albanians in Kosovo are not Albanian? They just speak it and wave the same flag?

To those here that haven’t read the resolution (there are many!) please find below the link.
http://assembly.coe.int/Main.asp?link=/Documents/AdoptedText/ta08/EREC1822.htm
As you will see, there is NO call for new negotiations about the status and Kosovo is already treated as an independent country. Please find below some important points from the resolution:

The Assembly also welcomes the possible deployment of an EU Rule of Law Mission to Kosovo
Assembly asks the Committee of Ministers to provide its support and expertise to the relevant authorities in Kosovo in the following areas:
5.3.1. constitutional and legal issues;
5.3.2. protection of human rights and strengthening of human rights protection mechanisms,
5.3.3. durable solutions for all asylum seekers, refugees and IDPs;
5.3.4. protection of minority rights,
5.3.5. protection of the Serbian community and its cultural heritage in Kosovo;
Etc. etc.

Enjoy!

They know the credibility of international law is at stake here and the way forward are more talks. Pristina should be pressured to continue talks with good intentions. The tide is turning and its time to gave real talk. Pristina is slowly loseing ground here. A UDI is being ruled out.

Jovan I would suggest you read the document. It leaves open the possibility of a declaration of independece. That is the reason why the Serbian delegates voted against it, and not some stupid reason having to do with language or other nonsensical reasons Serbian delegates come up with.

ZK you're missing the point intentionally. It will be a Kosovar state not an Albanian state. People who live and were born in Kosova/o will govern it. It just happens that majority speaks Albanian. It is like saying Serbia is a second Slovenian state,or a second Macedonian state, or a second Bosnian state. There's plenty of states in the world that share the same language. Lay off of that Albanophobia for a while. You'll leave a better life.

please note that the Council of Europe (CoE) is not an NGO and is not the European Union Parliament - the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE is a body made up of delegations from the national parliaments of the CoE's 47 Member States - including Serbia and Albania and Russia.

CoE is an intergovernmental organisation and is the drafter and implementer of the European Convention on Human Rights and most other important European human rights democracy and rule of law standards for the continent. The parliamentarians yesterday took very much their own personal views - many of them being in opposition in their own countries. The Resolution is not binding.

"I am expecting the usual albanian phrases:

"what importance does the CoE have anyway"... :) "

Yes, that is correct, CoE has no actual weight in the European Parlament. It's just an NGO. Just like they changed from "imposed solution" to "continuation of talks", as if they were talking about buying something on eBay, they will do the other way around tomorrow and still will not have any value.

"Romans, Ottomans, you named it, have ruled us for centuries, but they have never managed to take away our will to be free. That goes for Serbia too; you can not rule a nation forever."

Ximi... the Albanians are free. They already have a country called "Albania". So what now, you want another country formed from Serbian land and then what? Another one from Macedonia and perhaps Greece and then Montenegro?

The most freedom you will achieve is by accepting the Serbian offer of a large degree of Autonomy. The alternative is to obey your new rulers "NATO". There will be no freedom in Kosovo no matter how you look at it.

Condi Rice won't be happy after this decision, she is in a hurry for God sake,don't you have a mercy. And the Europe would like to see mutual agreement and acceptable solution for both sides. As for Tachi he might be really surprised after the meeting in Brussels. This all makes me smile :)))))

Jovan,
“I am expecting the usual albanian phrases”
"what importance does the CoE have anyway"... :)

No I wouldn’t say that, of course it is important but its more to do with terminology used rather the real outcome.
The bottom line is that he process and the will of the nation wanting to be free and independent, can not be stopped. All Serbia is doing (I have to say I am impressed, but at the same time I expect it that) is delaying the actual date. Basically, Serbia’s actions would be interpreted as: You are braking away from us but we are not going to make it easy fro you.

Romans, Ottomans, you named it, have ruled us for centuries, but they have never managed to take away our will to be free. That goes for Serbia too; you can not rule a nation forever.

The question is when, not if.

I agree with you in this point - let’s see what future brings...

but, there is a clear message they fail to see:

"The majority of members within the Parliamentary Assembly voted in favor of a resumption of talks, and stressed the importance of finding a negotiated solution."

I wish I could get a job working at the EU Parliament. You seem to get paid huge amounts of money for producing documents that say absolutely nothing.
