He's a busy boy, isn't he?
It's a good time to start making some friends in the EU. Better late than never!

Ah, but kate, I am pro-US ;-).
However,, Sarkozy has definite problems. I think he'll bottle reforming the French economy. France could do a lot better - it's firms generally do very well overseas but are stifled in there own country. But as a Brit, fr purely 'nationalistic' purposes of not wanting competition, it doesn't bother me too much if he doesn't manage it.

Bruce,
Mr Chirac and Mr Miteran were rank, a first class politicans. Kouchner, oh please give me a break. I have seen how much he did in Kosovo while ran the administration.

Bruce - You have a point, but I still think they leave a lot to be desired. They come across as having giant egos nd Sarkozy is much more pro US than part of Europe.

Compared to Chirac and his compulsive stealing of public funds, they're both wonderful.

I don't know what would be worse - spending time with Bernard Kouchner or Sarkozy. Poor France at the moment - it reminds me of the Bliar govt c. 1999.
