Koštunica, Tadić, travel to Moscow for energy deal

Well, this is an interesting move, probably good. Afterall, Russia has the resources to make this work. It also could make Germany, the US, France, Italy, the UK and the rest of NATO think a little more before they go off on another campaign of terror against the people of Serbia. Russia will have a direct interest next time.

It's also good that the EU would get shut out of this deal; their interest in Serbia smacks of imperialism. It seems the EU says: "Oh we want Serbia in the family, but only if it agrees to change its borders as we see fit, and does everything we demand, no matter how much we pile the madates on top of our demands, and does not mind our people overseeing the sale of State property in Kosovo."

I bet you do wish that to happen, but guess what... it ain't. Serbia is 40x more important than albania could ever hope to be. And frankly the EU and US's support for you just isn't worth all the trouble with Russia.

I dont know to who they will sell that energy when serbia is so close to isolation when nikolic and his brain washing party gain a power in serbia and i'm praying for such a thing to happen there.

The way serbs speak of EU and kosovo, if someone didnt know anything about it, they could be excused for thinking that EU one day just woke up and decided Kosovo to be independent. However everyone knows thats not the reason why there is such worldwide support for its independence. serbia doesnt have such world influence that other countries "hate it". Its past actions and inability to come to grips with those are the core reason why it is in severe "dispute" with virtually all of its neighbouts and the reason why kosovo's independent is sought. The "you are with me or against me" attitude never brings anyone anything positive.

However I have tried to understnad some of serbia's arguements about past and some of those are very valid indeed. Some of them are not really valid. However problem with any country's pain is ignored once its resorted to military and to somehow solve those issues only eliminates awareness of those issues and does not highlight them. some serb problems are somewhat ignored in the world. But history is like that. Anyone who knows anything regarding history will know that there isnt too much of a difference between Stalin and Hitler....however hitler's was much more obvious.

I think the russia alignment is a big mistake for serbia. as I said the "you are with me or against me attitude" will not bring itself any positives. Serbia cant be Russias partner. Russia only has partners when it suits itself. whilst in EU, it will be able to have a voice at any time due to its veto capability, with russian alignment, serbia will be diverted to the answering machine to leave a message. Russia doesnt have many partners in the world and the partners it has are Iran and North Korea. nice company to keep. Ukraine and Belarus are prime examples of how russia treats its partners who dont do as they say.

Oh and a note on russia oil and pipelines etc. Whilst russia has the cash, only the west has capability to design and build these. I am an engineer in the same industry. I know it well. All the huff and puff by russia does not reduce the fact that it relies on western technology and people to build its economy.
