Hold on a sec, are they talking about foreign companies that they going to penalize it or Serbian companies.
Obviously they can't penalize foreign ones hence they mean for their own in Serbia.

So if let say some chocolate factory from Serbia wants to sell some chocolates to Kosova, then they should label Kosova as Kosovo/Serbia etc.

Right, but didn't Serbia said they will make an embargo towards Kosova? If embargo is set on then whats a point of coming up with these ridiculous idea.

Abd if the embargo is on then whats a point of these factories producing goods for Kosova, knowing very well that they are not allowed to export them into Kosova?

Something is not right here, but again, what is right when such ideas come from Serbia's Gov?

Any product manufactured in KosovO is Serbian & nothing other than that. What's so difficult to understand? It's equal to a shirt you purchase in the store stating "Made in Casablanca" as opposed to Morocco.

Let's be realistic now! How many items can really be made in KosovO when they can't even manufacture heat & electricity for the residents without Serbia's help?

Buisness is buisness, if the product cant come in through Serbia, It will come through Albania, Montengro, and Macedonia. Its only hurting itself.

This reminds me of a problem we had at work. Our company organized a trade conference in Madrid (airport marketing and business development). For this event we received bookings from both Aerodrom Nikola Tesla as well as Prishtina International Airport. We could obviously register Belgrade under RS, but with Prishtina we had to negotiate with both sides how we could register it, as RS was offensive to Prishtina and KS was offensive to Belgrade. We eventually agreed on RS/KS.

Even this example shows that neither side will ever come to agreement on the status issue. There will be problems for years to come in the Balkans.

I checked a month ago, the export/import with Kosova/Serbia is something like 15/14 which isn't a big deal, but, the main "embargo" can be the products coming elsewhere through Serbia and into Kosova. Now, if Serbia delabels/relabels the information by adding "Serbia/Kosova" than that goes against INTERNATIONAL LAW.

Either way, I'm seeing a lot of products not just from Serbia but elsewhere with that beautiful (AL).

Well its just a measure to try and make life of Kosovars as worst as possible, however our lifes cannot be worst than at the beginning of previous century, Rankovic or Milosevic era. Therefore, for me does not make any sense, I always go for shoping and never buy products from Serbia.

The positive side of this is that it will make Kosova's farmers, enterpreneurs and business to better use the capacities of this Kosova country. The beautiful thing of this is that we will not see any russian "investments" here as it happened in Montenegro.

'How about Kosovos government banning made in serbia products from entering Kosovo! This will leave no choice but for businesses to find other products and new routs to supply Kosovo. We will see Serbian economy collapse in front of our own eyes.
(laki NY, 18 January 2008 18:52)'

Because Albanians have so much more buying power than Serbs do ... and no, the proceeds from drug and human trafficking do not count.

Thank you Kate for your comments. I’m sorry if I missed the point but I think I’m not the only one who doesn’t understand Serbian’s government strategy. If “The Trade and Services Ministry will fine companies that indicate the existence of Kosovo as a state” they can’t fine companies operating in Kosovo, they haven’t any authority to do so, they will probably block all products coming from Kosovo and prevent Serbian companies from trading with Kosovo but will only fine Serbian companies and Serbian consumers that will, at the end, pay the price! With or without fines from its own government, Serbian consumers are silently paying the higher price everyday. What a waste of time and opportunities.

Kate,
Quick survey of products in my kitchen shows about 40% of the products show state and USA the rest only designate state such as Vermont, Michigan, etc.

Alfa: "Serb government is going to fine Serb nationals that will try to sell products in Kosovo!"

You missed the point. They are going to fine companies which label their products with the provincial name of 'Kosovo', instead of the regulated label as "Serbia" or "Kosovo, Serbia".

Legally labelling as Kosovo alone would be the equivalent of US products being traded as "Vermont" products. That wouldn't be allowed by the regulatory boards either.

Serb government is going to fine Serb nationals that will try to sell products in Kosovo! It’s a bit masochist, isn’t it? Who cares! I’m laughing.

My comment for this measures from Serbian government is;
