All refuges must return NOW!
(legaleye, 19 January 2008 03:42)
Yes, I agree. And they can bring with them the dead bodies of missing Albanians scattered all over Serbia after 1999. So your politicians doesn't have to count the expenses for their unburial and transportation to Kosovo as part of Kosovo's debt that Serbia is paying.
One question: Is the salaries that Kosovo Serbs are getting for the last 9 years from Serbia just for being Kosovo Serbs part of Kosovo's debt or they are being paid by serbs taxpayers?

legalbrain,

That what you stated has nothing to do with the brain, sorry but you failed with your short explanaiton without any facts. All you tried to do is to diminish and turn Legaleye's comment into propaganda but you failed, dearly failed. I can bet legaleye will defeat you any time with the knowledge and the facts.

Does this mean UDI is going to be postponed yet again? Of course it does. Seems like the Albanians were getting better results through violence. Violence that was carried out with the EU and USA's blessing. This permission to commit violence has been withdrawn, talks will begin, and K albs forgotten by their benefactors. If the K albs resist, then watch the world propoganda machine turn on their k alb darlings.

Legalbrain,

How can you say that 200000 ethnically cleansed Serbs and 100000 ethnically cleansed Roma is a "cheap shot"? That its propaganda? Are you saying these citizens of Kosovo have not been ethnically cleansed? Are you saying they have freedom of movement? Justice? Safety? Where are the 40000 pre war Serbian citizens of your capital? Were they all war criminals? The kids too? How about nasty Serbian Grandmother? 100000 Albanians still live in Belgrade the Serbian capital! How is it that the Albanians seem to have no problems living in the Serbian Capital, but there isn't a single Serb that is living in your capital Pristina. How is that possible? How could you ignore that fact? Serbs are ashamed of the atrocities that have been done in their name, they acted, they ousted Milosevic and have been building a modern European Democracy whose economy is on track to grow 7% this year. Serbia's standard of living is greater the Bulgaria and Romania , both EU members. Serbia rejected the policies of Milosevic, ousted him and sent him to the Hague. What did the Albanians of Kosovo do? They elected Hardeni, Ceku and Thaci all former terrorists involved in ethnic cleansing, now liberal democrats that will solve all of the problems of their ethnically cleansed Serbs and Roma victims. I think not.
As for your dismissive comments about the last 100 years, I remind you that Kosovo as a province received many billions of dollars from the rest of Yugoslavia. Serbia is still making payments on 1.5 billion of foreign debt directly appropriated for kosovo. Just because the Albanian administration mismanaged the money is not Serbia's fault. It was an autonomous province run by Albanian Communists. Likewise, Pristina had its own University. Albanians could learn and use their own language. Can you say the same for minorities in Kosovo today? Tens of thousands of oppressed Albanians during Enver Hoxa's regime were welcomed in Kosovo. only to turn around and today ethnically cleanse all non Albanian people from Kosovo. Milosevic rescinded Kosovo's autonomy in 1989 in a poor attempt to prevent the further ethnic cleansing of Serb and Roma Kosovo citizens that the New York Times David Binder wrote about as earlier as 1982! So please, Legal brain spare us the dismissive cavalier hubris, today your provisional government again mismanages billions of dollars the international community has infused into Kosovo's economy, yet you have the highest unemployment rate in Europe. The economy is in shambles. Electrical supply is erratic with daily rolling blackouts. Oh thats right it must the nasty Serb grandmother's fault lets go throw some rocks at her house that will make it all better. All refuges must return NOW!

Legaleye:
Serbs had 100 to show its maturity, and respect for human life, but they failed, miserably. Serbia had its chance, to prove itself, but their xenophobic mentality finally revealed its true consequence.
In Serbia today, the fascism is flourishing as well as antisemitism, which not to long a go was evident in Belgrade against two Jews that were beaten up mercilessly.
And dear legaleye do not spread propganda because they are very cheap shots, the world knows already who is the culprit of the four wars in former Yugoslavia.
I am amazed at this so called minister of KiM Samardzic, he is really something. A politician that makes childish comments that not woth even commenting about.

legaleye

pre 16 godina

Kosovo's provisional government (PISG) has had eight years to show that it is mature enough to lead all citizens of Kosovo into the future, but it has miserably failed. Eight years after NATO'S Bombing campaign and four years after the March 2004 massive orchestrated Ethnic cleansing campaign against Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Turks, Croats and Jewish citizens, there still is no assurance that all the citizens of Kosovo can live in peace, with security, with freedom of movement and with full participation in all the fruits of society. On the contrary, today in the capital Pristina, Which had a pre war Serb population of 40000, not one single Serb resides in the capital. Can it be that all of these citizens were war criminals? Can it be that grandmothers and children were war criminals deserving retribution? Throughout all of Kosovo 200000 Serbs have been ethnically cleansed , another 100000 Roma have been ethnically cleansed, thousands of other minorities citizens (Bosniaks, Turks, Croats and Jews) have been ethnically cleansed, the majority of which have sought refuge in Serbia Proper! Why is that? Kosovo says its ready for Independence, but why cant it guarantee the safety of these refuge citizens? It has been eight long years! Hardly any refuge citizens have been able to return, even though NATO is there to protect them. 1000 Serbs and Roma citizens have been murdered, another 1000 are still missing. How many Albanian citizens of Kosovo have been murdered in the same amount of time relative to their demographic proportion of society? 150 UNESCO recognized Christian Churches and Shrines have been destroyed by the majority Albanian citizens. None have been rebuilt even though the Kosovo government (PISG) has explicitly agreed to this task. Not one in eight years? But, yet Kosovo is ready for Independence? Tens of thousands of minority owned properties have been illegally occupied and appropriated by the majority Albanian citizens with no prospect of return to the rightful owners. Yet Kosovo society is ready for Independence? Tens of thousands of hectare/acres of Serbia Orthodox Christian Church owned land has been illegally appropriated with no prospect of return. Yet Kosovo is ready for independence? Kosovo suffers the highest unemployment rate in Europe, some estimates as high as 70%. But yet Kosovo is ready for Independence? Rampant crime and the center of European Heroin and Human Trafficking trade. Yet ready for independence? A few western countries cower for independence siting Albanian threats of violence if independence is not recognized, but the international community and the EU is divided because recognition of a illegal Unilateral Declaration of Independence is the sanctioning of GENOCIDE AGAINST 300000 Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Turks, Croats and Jewish citizens of Kosovo!

This is not he first time Serbia has suffered Genocide, in WW2 upwards of 800000 Serbs, Jews and Roma were exterminated in the Nazi and Croatian Fascist extermination camps of Jasenovac and Stara Gradiska (a camp designed exclusively for woman and children). Likewise, tens of thousand of Serb, Roma and Jewish citizens were exterminated and ethnically cleansed in small villages throughout Yugoslavia by Nazis, Albanian Fascists of the SS Skandebeg Division, Croatian Ustashi Fascists and Bosnian Muslim fascists of the SS Handžar Division. Many in Serbia have tried to explain away some of the recent atrocities committed by Serbs, such as Srebanica, as a natural result of decades of emotional suppression, due to an organized communist campaign not to acknowledge or to reconcile the WW2 Genocide of Serbs, Roma and Jews in order to preserve unity among the different ethnic communities. However, regardless how this emotional suppression might have influenced the individual actors of the crimes committed, the universally accepted legal percept that one crime cannot justify another crime still is applicable. Likewise, whatever the extent of Milosevic's crimes in Kosovo (Albanians say 10 thousand dead, the UN acknowledges only 3500 on all sides) cannot justify the continued GENOCIDE of Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Turks, Croats and Jewish citizens of Kosovo! All 300000 ethnically cleansed Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Turks, Croats and Jewish citizens of Kosovo must be allowed to return to their homes. The International Community cannot sanction this GENOCIDE by recognizing a Illegal Unilateral Declaration of Independence of Kosovo. Serbia cannot acquiesce to this injustice. Serbs will invoke the anguished cry of our Jewish Brothers who have likewise suffered the indignity of Genocide....NEVER AGAIN the GEOCIDE STOPS NOW! There are over 600000 UN recognized Serb refuges in Serbia that have been cruelly cleansed from their homes in Croatia, Bosnia and KOSOVO! 250000 Serbs ethnically cleansed from Croatia, 150000 Serbs ethnically cleansed from Bosnia, 200000 Serbs from Kosovo and another 100000 Roma from Kosovo. None have been allowed to return. How is it possible that Serbs are accused of being the primary villain and purveyor of ethnic cleansing, but, yet again is the largest victim of ethnic cleansing? Is it possible that these innocent SERBS are somehow sub human not deserving of justice? It is happening right before your eyes, with your assistance! Kosovo is the SERB's Jerusalem, they cannot agree to this! Just like their Jewish Brothers who for centuries evoked the unifying cry of NEXT YEAR IN JERUSELEM, SERBS evoke THIS YEAR IN KOSOVO!

Mike if you bothered to "logically" read any article, you will find out that asking for a continuation of the dialog is equivalent to opposing the independence.
It's obvious to anyone, even to you that we have either have independence or not. There is not third option.

Serbian diplomacy all these years did not sacceed to reach the broad audience of the international community and now that the situation became critical they woke up.
For instance, here in Cyprus, every week the issue of Koosovo hits the media on both t.v. and newspapers. Never though, we have seen any Serbian diplomat being present in any of these discussions. I presume that this happens in other countries too. During the Israeli - Lebanon war everyday we had both the Lebanese and Israelis parading the news channels trying to win international support. Serbia should foccus on the Human rights issue of
K- Serbs and their right to roam in their country without the fear of getting shot, raped and loosing their property.
Thi is what touches the international opinion and not who inhibitated first Kossovo.
(Marios Vassiliou, 18 January 2008 11:08)
Dear Marios Vassiliou,
I do understand the fear of Cyprus and Greek people there. But if you think beyond the religion and fear, if you think beyond politic and diplomacy, Kosovo case is case of freedom and de-colonialism, it is case of dissolving the artificial country as ex-Yugoslavia. As a constitutional part of ex-Yugoslavia, Kosovo independence ends the artificiality of the region, ends the colonialism of Dardania land. The history recognizes two empires that destroy this well-known Balkan Peninsula for their long history of civilization, first were Serbs in late 7th century and later Turks in late 12th century. Albanians and Greeks share the same history, fight for freedom and independence. Although there are very few disputed and dark areas on our history, we are only two nations in Balkan that suffered so much from foreigners. The time we were in opposite side is just a drop of water in ocean. Dardanians (modern Kosova) have been all time a similar identity with Albanians. As part of Illyrian Dardans, Albans, Epiriots, etc. sharing the same language, same culture, same anthropology, same identity. Being tribe of Illyrian, their historic development made them different. Kosovo’s Independence will contribute the peace of Balkan and prosperity of the region. Kosovo’s Independence will liberate the Serbs too. Integration and peace make the region prosper. Looking back to history, Albanians, like Greeks too, are the most tolerant people in region. Pease process in Cyprus is initiated from Greeks. For Albanians too, the sufferings from neighbors during long history didn’t blind their vision to make the only nation in the region that never treated differently minorities during a 50+ years after WWII. I have read too many comments from Serbs “crying” for Roma and Jews driven out of Kosova from Albanians. I want to mention one fact; Albanians are the only nation in the world, I repeat the only nation in the world that didn’t handed to Nazis not even a single Jews and for this there are very well documented facts.

Gezim Disha

pre 16 godina

It’s really amazing the stubbornness of the Serb politicians and posters. Do they really believe that Kosovo will become theirs again?!
No one in the right state of mind would have such thoughts. Not as long as Kosovo is inhabited by Albanians anyway. Milosevic knew this. He tried to get rid of Kosovo Albanians and failed. So did Serbia. End of the story.
Get on with your lives. And you bet we will get on with ours just fine.

Miri, if you bothered to read the article carefully, you'd see that Samardžić did not say there was a growing list of courtries opposing independence (though there has never been a global survey and I'm sure if a popular tally was done here i the US most would be against it).

He said there is a growing list of countries that would support the resumption of talks. Most of the EU is still wary about putting their money where their mouth is come UDI, and most are extremely worried over the moves Belgrade may make in lieu of a UDI. If Kosovo wishes to be anything other than glorified time shares for American businesses, a firm UN resolution properly defining its status is necessary and vital.

No one in the right state of mind would have such thoughts. Not as long as Kosovo is inhabited by Albanians anyway. Milosevic knew this. He tried to get rid of Kosovo Albanians and failed. So did Serbia. End of the story.

Serbian diplomacy all these years did not sacceed to reach the broad audience of the international community and now that the situation became critical they woke up.
For instance, here in Cyprus, every week the issue of Koosovo hits the media on both t.v. and newspapers. Never though, we have seen any Serbian diplomat being present in any of these discussions. I presume that this happens in other countries too. During the Israeli - Lebanon war everyday we had both the Lebanese and Israelis parading the news channels trying to win international support.

It's so hard to understand those Serbian politicians:First they are so confident on the support of ''international community''(Russia, China, Ruanda, Lybia), on other hand some small ''insifigant'' countries like (USA,GB, France, Germany,Italy...)are oppossing further talks, but still things are going on right direction...
Another thing that bothers me in Serbians statetments is that they use to often word International Law?!
It's very hypocrite from their side, maybe they should read so many UN Resolutions for vioalations of those Laws by Serbian Government. I have never heard any Serbian politician who apology for all innocent victims of the war, civilians killed by Serbians forces, military and paramilitary. Do they think it's forgoten matter? Or they choose only those Laws which are in their favoure? What about being human and admit the guilt for masacres of civilians? Or they think they are innocent, 'cause those killing were made during the Milošević time?

I wonder when these serb ministers will stop tricking people in the middle of the day.
I really feel sorry for the serbs because they are listening to these tales daily and are falling as victims of these propagandas.
In the other way the serb government approved the plan for what to do when Kosova declares independence in few days, and now this minister still keeps tricking people.

Unfortunately the amount of countries for independence is big enough to recognize a UDI, but the amount of countries against independence is big enough to make a UDI illegal.

It really is a stupid scenario where ideally talks would be the best scenario, which I myself support, but is it the realistic way considering the diametrically opposed stances?

Let's see what the future brings, as Jovan would say.

If Kosovo wishes to be anything other than glorified time shares for American businesses, a firm UN resolution properly defining its status is necessary and vital.

legaleye

pre 16 godina
