Cabinet adopts Kosovo action plan

The govt cabinet made up of the whole coalition DS, DSS, G17+ and NS agree with;

"5. The National Assembly agrees that the establishment of the proposed EU mission for implementing Ahtisaari’s rejected plan will be a violation of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia. "

- Tadic needs to ensure he reflects fully on the Serbian, government, parliment & most importantly the electorates view that Serbia's Sovereignity is not a price they are willing to pay for the conditioned promise of EU memebership sometime in the future.

It's upto the EU if they truly want an equal partner or not and they must clarify their position on the 28th January. Respect Serbia's Sovereignity and make it very clear that the EU desists from the illegal and anti-International law folly that the US would impose!

I can see a EU fudge of putting off the decision but that will not be good enough. The EU must completely desist from all notion of illegality on the 28th January unless of course they too wish to see Nikolic as the new President?

The most important word here is "united". It is vital that the Serbian government hold together on this issue. Any squabbling or division within the cabinet will be exploited by those who are no friends of Serbia. But, so far so good.

And those stories that Srbia will be isolated if not join the EU or opposes the EU are just tales and the only purpose of these sort of stories is intimidation of an ordinary citizen. What is important here is that Serbian politicans are unified over Kosovo issue and it will be harder for the EU to manipulate Serbia.

It is very easy for some (like Princip) to talk against EU and setting some pre-conditions to the EU. Princip, you live in the UK, and I am surprised that you talk against EU in such a way, or down play the importance of being EU member. Some of the government officials that have very good life do not care in joining the EU, because they do not need anything else. It is the poor ordinary people that will suffer, should the Serbian not join the EU. Serbian government officials are being stupidly stubborn to gain on the electoral propaganda and use Kosovo as a point to win votes.
Kosovo will be independent weather you (or Kostunica) like it or not, but it is the poor Serbian ordinary people that will pay the price.
