How can anyone establish a private company/association and call it a church. Furthermore how can any Christian church be comprised of and managed by people who are atheists or of moslem background. Only foolish and uninformed can endorse and support that. One reason why it was done through the Greek community, was because their ignorance and disassociation with the facts, was exploited by these devious manipulants to mislead the naive beleivers.

That Greek Orthodox church in Australia has been condemned as 'non-canonical' because -- like the Serbian Orthodox -- they have refused to change from the Julian (Old Style) calendar to the Gregorian (New Style) calendar. Of course these Old Calendarites insist that it is they who are in compliance with the canons and Orthodox tradition, and that it is the other Greek Orthodox (the "new calendarites") who are in schism.

Theological disagreements of this sort are not unusual. For example in Ukraine, there are no fewer than five Orthodox churches, each of which has its own separate organizations -- and each of which claims to be canonical and the guardian of the true Orthodox tradition:

# Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_Orthodox_Church_%28Moscow_Patriarchate%29

# Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kiev Patriarchate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_Orthodox_Church_-_Kiev_Patriarchate

# Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_Autocephalous_Orthodox_Church

# Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical
http://www.soborna.org/

# Old Rite Orthodox ('Old Believers')
http://www.unicorne.org/Orthodoxy/articles/alex_roman/oldbelievers.htm

What's worth noting is that the Ukrainian government has given legal recognition to all of these churches, realizing that it is not the job of a secular state to say who is right in religious disputes. One only wishes that the (supposedly secular) Serbian government would be as sensible about these matters as their counterparts in Kiev. Instead, it chooses to deny Montenegrin Orthodox, Rumanian Orthodox, and Macedonian Orthodox believers in Serbia the right to worship in the churches of their choice.

The group that this priest has joined is a non-canonical old calenderist group that is not part of the recognised Greek Orthodox Church in Australia.

That statement is a lie. The Greek Church is fully legal and canonicall with Orthodox law, hence it has the same view on the so-called "Montenegrin Church" as the Serbian Church. Hence, the Greek church would not allow something like this to happen.

They attend church, but ever rarely set foot in one..... Most of them identify with Serbia, but for some reason feel as if they have to be treated as better class of citizen now...
