Marko you are right,
I don't know any people from ex-YU here in EU that don't fix their teeth while on vacation in ex-YU!

I know a dentist in Belgrade that have customers from both US and Canada due to the high prices over there.

I paid 1000 euro for a jacket crown last year in a EU country because I couldn't go to Serbia with THAT short notice :-(

Lazar,
Its all about priorities in the balkans.
Last year, I didn't see one teenager that didn't have at least a 500 euro mobilephone. 3G phones were the norm, despite 3G not having "coverage?" in most of the balkans.
Same thing with smoking, how many people doesn't complain about their bad economic situation while sitting in a Kafe and smokes?
Stop spending money on ciggaretes then!

I can only answer for myself, but if I had to chose between buying ciggaretes and a mobile phone while I had an enourmus toothache and needed to go to the dentist, I wouldn't chose the phone...

Be glad though that it's not as bad as in the US. I have to wait until I visit YU to go to the dentist because the plane ticket from NY-Belgrade is cheaper than a root canal.

Why don't they talk about milestones for hardships that the people endure? For example, people can not afford to go to the dentist. That's what we get by wanting to join the EU.
