NATO membership for Montenegro does not mean they have to follow the US in all their stupid wars. Many NATO countries did not join the US in their war in Iraq, some have left already while others are planning to.

Every NATO member is a veto holder and has the right to decide if they want to partake in a campaign or not.

Now I envision victorious Crnogorac tanks rolling in Moscow. :-P

But if West does not understand that the single reason is the money: it's their fault. On the paper it looks good for the Administration, the rest is irrelevant. Besides, no one knows for sure where Crna Gora (or Serbia if that matters) is anyway.

If Crna Gora can mooch some money as "cash advance" from NATO for any reason, than it's indeed a plan. No one does say, they WILL ultimately join... If they can get some extra money for talking, than let it be.

I am seriously considering to declare independence and join NATO, so I can get some financial help with my household budget.

Well done Montenegro! But this one doesn't come without obligations... Be prepared to send your young boys to die in the "meaningful" wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and also possible in Iran next year. But that is a low prize for montenegrin politicians to pay, after all they are not going to send THEIR sons to the war, they will be well off studying in other countries with their dads money...
