Miri, I am an American and have served my country. Born in the United States, lived in the US and have served for the US. I’m not glorifying Russia. I’m pointing out that while the US is busy fighting the world’s battles, some of them unimportant to US interests, Russia is becoming an issue we can’t ignore. I have been to Bosnia and Kosovo and felt for the Bosnians that lived there, but I think the Kosovars are a totally different cause. Bosnians were massacred. Kosovars started a fight they couldn’t finish and made themselves look like victims. I feel for them losing people, but I think their whole ideology is wrong and giving independence to any group on people who fought a dirty war but then blamed the other side is wrong. Don’t question my loyalty. How many months in the Army have you served? I hate to see when a refugee comes to my country, acquires citizenship, and then tries to impose their minority views on the majority and screams racism when we don’t listen. Sorry, but we don’t care.

EA, Bush is from Texas and serves the US. Does that give the right for Texas to break from the US if it wants since Bush was President who made executive decision for the US? No, so neither should Kosovo. Kosovo was always a province, never a republic. Those are the facts. I’m sure that the ICJ will get involved at one point, but not on my account. Like I said, I’m sure you don’t want it to either.

To A. Eagle.
I don't think you are an American. I have lived in America for 15 years and I haven't seen or heard any American prefer and praise Russia over US. You and people like you seem to suffer from an identity complex, just like our Canadian here who emigrated to Toronto during wars of 90's and calls himself Canadian. Another reason is that Serbia's cause has so little international support that you feel the need to create one by trying to identify yourselves with the western country that you live in.

American Eagle,

Joe is a Hungarian nationalist and is very bitter towards neighbouring states like Slovakia, Romania and Serbia who all have large Hungarian populations.

Joe wants Vojvodina back. :)

Haradinaj is fine thanks for asking! He is spending the New Years Eve with his family. Soon he will be free like like Fatmir Limaj and then you will blame the Tribunal....
Coming back to the subject you are missing the complete point.
If you and your fellow Serbs can make Kosova to re-integrate to Serbia good luck to you guys.

By the way you just want to ephasise that Serbia is successor of Yugoslavia...but the meaning is not that narrow or shallow as you are trying to sell it to us. Do you know what rights had Kosova in former Yugoslavia? Do you know that Kosova was constitutive rights in the Federative state? Do you know that Kosova had the right to veto Federal issues? Do you know that the Serbian government took away the autonomy....? Do you know that Serbia was forced out of Kosova...? How can these happen in a "sovereign" country....These are REAL FACTS "American Eagle" and with respect to your opnion go and challenge the Kosova's full independence in the International Court...) Peace for all!

International relations and law are two different fields. I took some business law courses during college, but that doesn’t mean that I am qualified to be a lawyer. Besides, I was being smart when I said that. You obviously are afraid of asking any court to make a decision for you since you must know that they wouldn’t rule in your favor. You have no solid arguments for independence.

I do see Kosovo as part of the Former Yugoslavia, and its successor state, Serbia. Glad you feel the same. But like I said before, you can’t justify the division of Serbia and Kosovo based on the bad acts of its leaders. Just like there was Nuremburg to punish the Nazis, there is The Hague to punish the people who broke the law through ethnic cleansing. How is Haradinaj anyway?

I don’t see an answer to my questions, EA, and I don’t see any logic in your diatribes. Let’s have a logical conversation here, not just old, worn out statements that are repeated post after post after post.

PS. I'm not Serbian. I'm American. Like I said before, Kosovars believe that if you're not with them, you have to be against them. You should learn to respect differences of opinion.

EA

"American Eagle",

You are right in pointing out that I have studied law and to be more specific International Relations in Holland and Germany.
Kosova doesn't have to go to International Court of Justice because for Kosovar people there is no doubt that their are right in their demends regarding full independence. If Serbia has got a problem with it can try the International Court. Secondly the issue of Kosova should be viewed in the context of former Yuguslavia. Third whoever makes a decision regarding Kosova takes into account the history of the region, the wars in former Yugoslavia and particulary the ethnic cleansing of orchastrated by the Serbian regime of Slobodan Milosevic.
It as unfortunate that people like you "American eagle" and most of the Serbian panel in here love to forget about the history of the conflict. Now is the moment of TRUTH. Kosova will be fully independent and I hope you will understand why after looking into the roots of the conflict.
Just to summarise: Yugolavia doesn't exist anymore and Serbia lost Kosova in a war.
Serbia lost control of Kosova since 1999 and has nothing to offer. Peace to all!

Comment, I don't need to take a trip anywhere to know that Macedonia is next on the hit list.
I have heard all the talk about uniting all the Albanians where ever they are. I recall some disturbance between the Albanians and the Macedonians not long ago. What was that all about?

I don't wish any harm to Macedonia but I do know that they are next.
Greater Albania is the goal here and nobody is going to be spared.
That's why I suggest to all Macedonians to support Serbia against the illegal land grab because they will want Serbia to support them when their time comes.

American Eagle

EA, you sound like you know about law and the legal system. Why not take this to the International Court of Justice to see if this is legal. And also whether you can become an independent country legally? Are you willing to let them decide? I'd be all for that as a means of resolving your final status. I'm not really sure how a resolution passed by a country for its country can be null and void in it. Can you explain that? I’m guessing that if you don’t like a law passed in my country, you would be able to say it would be null and void because you said so? Make some logical arguments. Don’t just spew out hot air.

Doni, actually the Kosovo parliament obviously must not be able to resolve your status. They have done nothing on it. That is because they know that if they declare independence without US or EU backing, it will be as good as the paper it is written on. If they really could, I’m sure they would have done so by now.

PR, did Germany lose the right to govern its citizens when it decide to start killing them in World War II? It was punished, but it is now a whole country again. I don’t see the difference, especially considering that it killed millions of Jews alone, not to mention Gypsies, gays, and others they considered undesirables. How is Serbia’s situation any different? Hitler and Milosevic both died before they could be punished, but their countries were rebuilt instead of being torn apart permanently.

You all really know how to alienate those who saved you. Before I’m attacked by the rest of the Kosovar crowd here, I’m not the only American who feels this way. There are more of us who are disgusted with the situation. You can't even play the victims anymore.

Joe, where are you? I really want to know what Santa brought you.

Didn't think Tadic and his buddies would agree to this

and as much as I would of liked for them not to agree to it.. so the coalition could break.. this pretty much means Serbia will not join the European Union because the EU will recognize Kosovo independence

Dear Albanian posters. You still have time to send your wish list to santa.
Orthodix Christmas is coming so there is still time.

UN is not the North Pole so they cannot grant you what you want as long as Russia and China have the power of veto there.

Serbia is very serious about not being robbed. Go pick someone else's pocket.

it looks like you don´t know much about laws and regulations...

the simply are not being lost, they are not forfeitable and there is no discussion about it.

you are free to write about your dreams and wishes here, but you shouldn´t mix them up with legal terms.

I think this is just to convince everyone that they actualy have somewhat of a say to the status of Kosovo.

They lost it in 1999 when Serbia abused its citizens

EA

Stop misleading the Serbian people. Any resolution by the Serbian parlament would be VOID and NIL. The Serbian parliament can not take any decision when it comes to the Status of Kosova. That would contravene the so-called "process of negotiation" that Serbia is claming to favour.
