ORA leader to step down

That is what happens when you make promises you cannot deliever. People get tired of the same song and dance.

He lost the election because of his biography: titism is no longer trendy in kosovo,and veton and friends( baton haxhiu,shelzen maliqi and co),are identified as the last titist of K by our people!

and it is a very sane and mature decision of the kosovo.

So long for yugonostalgia!

PS/when you think of how much money some states investided on him,how much media coverage he had,how much control over the local media he had with the largest newspaper, and a tv station,it is not a defeat,it is a debacle!

We need a new generation of leaders, young ones who someone will mention to them serbia. and they will say: serbia who?

This is quite unfortunate. Veton Surroi is one of the greatest minds in Kosova and one of the principal architects of the liberation of Kosova, a deeply influential personality who managed to convince a great many throughout the world on the justness of our cause.

He lost the elections not so much because of his own mistakes, in fact he made a lot less mistakes than anyone else, but because his urban electorate is heavily outnumbered in the new Kosova.

I trust that regardless of this setback he will keep working for a better Kosova as he always has.

I hardly believe that the elections were democratic. Not only from a Serb perspective but from one where 6 different organisations had their hands mixed in for their own purposes. This was like saying there were democratic elections in Pakistan, US or Russia. Its rediculous.

Due to continues status quos of Kosova status, Serbia and Kosova's people are getting radicalized.

Veton Surroi was a moderate politician, in many ways. He of course has contributed to the freedom, but in difficult times his voice fell in deaf ears.

If the status of Kosova is not settled now or very soon, I would not be surprised to see Albin Kurti starting to make real progress in Kosovar political arena.

But I am confidant the int. comm, are recognizing this trend and I hope they will settle the status in coming months.

Kosova must become independent now

See in Kosova 4.1% means 4.1% not 5%.

I think they need younger politician to take over and bring new blood into the political arena. Not Radical or old buzzards that are only interested in lining there pockets with funds meant for the people.

I think it's a shame but hopefully he will stick arround.
