To Dimitar
UN resolutions 817 and 845 and the interim accord of 1995 provides for a mutually
agreeable settlement by sept
2002.To this date FYROM has
refused to take part in any
negotiations according to the
provisos of article 7 of the
interim accord.Instead they
started a systematic campaign
throughout the world to refer their country as the republic of Macedonia. What has been attempted is an
idendity and cultural theft by the slavs, albanians and
turks that reside in FYROM.
The deliberate use of ancient
Macedonian symbols ie flag, the name of scopje airport the currency printed
signs with the white tower
of Thessaloniki and certain
articles of the constitution
shows that FYROM tries to
rewrite history to serve ethnic truths.I will refer
Dimitar to an interview by
FYROM's president Kirov Gligorov to the foreign infor
service daily report in which
he stated " we are Slavs, who
came to the region in the 6th
century. We are not descendants of Alexander the
Great".Skopje was never part
of ancient Macedonia.In the
ancient times it used to be
part of Dardania,during the
Ottoman empire was part of the vilayet of Kosovo and
after the treaty of Bucharest
in 1913 the Serbs called it
south servia and later vardaska Banovina.
The name Macedonia is a cultural and historic domain
of the Helenes and cannot be
traded as a commodity.

Garry; "Greece" has no right to veto Macedonia; '95 Interim Agreement prevents them. Should they do so, we are no longer bound to said "Agreement", ie; having to endure Greece's endless attempts to extort our identity, heritage and land. Why can't they just grow up? They've never explained how Macedonia is "Greek", how we intend to claim Aegean Macedonia etc. because they can't! They're like a fat bully sitting on the chest of it's victim just because it can.

“…The people who sold out the Serbs…(are) not the Greeks…”
Garry, don’t worry, because of our cultural ties, traditionally good relations and common interests Serbs and Greeks will stay natural allays. We know very well that Greece did everything in its power to help us in this difficult historic period.

Thaci asked the Albanians in Macedonia to unite and support together with the macedonian government the Independence of Kosova. Thus, there will be no partition of macedonia, like serbs like to predict and dream about.

The people who sold out the
Serbs are their Slav brothers
of FYROM and not the Greeks.
You have short memories and
you forget which NATO country
refused to take part in their
operations against the Serbs
in 1998.On the contrary FYROM
on every opportunity they
support for the independence of kosovo in fear of their
own albanians and to show their obedience to USA.The
Greeks don't need anybody's
support since they hold the
right of veto on both NATO
and EU.

Yes, EU integration and Kosovo should not be linked with regards to Serbia, but I don't see further negatiations achieving anything, considering how opposed both sides are.

Germany lost a huge portion of land to the USSR, France Czechoslovakia and especially Poland, who in turn lost lots of land to the USSR after WW2. Hungary lost land to Serbia, Slovakia and Romania. After WW1, Europe's borders were redrawn completely from how it was before. Serbia should accept it as well, though not for reasons of EU entry, only for stability.

“Although negotiations between Belgrade and Priština are deadlocked, diplomatic endeavors have not been exhausted and dialogue between the two parties should be resumed,”

“This should not, however, be used as some kind of bargaining tool for Kosovo,”

“The complex Kosovo problem should be resolved wisely and without haste, and dialogue should not be abandoned,” Bakoyannis said."

“Diplomacy must be given a chance to reach a valid solution conducive to regional stability,” she said, quoted by Greek agency ANA."

"Cioroianu told a joint press conference after the meeting that it was not fair to force Serbia to choose between the EU and its territorial integrity, and that the EU should encourage Belgrade to concentrate on European issues, Romanian agency Rompress said."

Who was that Luxembourg minister who claimed recently that there was EU concensus (except for Cyrpus) on Kosovo's independence without further negotiations?

“Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, members of NATO and the EU in south-eastern Europe, advocate a sustainable solution for Kosovo’s status in keeping with international law,” the ministers said in a joint declaration.

Where starts and finishes the "international law" according to the ministers?

Few questions for the B92 panel...

Has the "ethnic cleansing" anything to do with the International law? When a country breaches the internation law why can't a part of this country "breach" that International law and break free. Who on earth would love to live under oppression, discrimination of a state which doesn't think or care about its citizens but just the territory. Look at the history of a country and you will find the roots of the problem which are deeper and uncompromising than what the Serbian people have been told.

White man (woman) speak with forked tongue!! Why doesn't Dora come clean and tell the truth on whether she has sold the Serbs for EU "solidarity" on Kosovo? Ie; Did she bargain Greece's "support" for an independent Kosovo, in exchange for "European" Union support for making "name Issue" a criteria for Macedonia's Euro- Atlantic integration?
