You know, it's really no one's business what anyone's religion is. As an Orthodox, I prefer my spiritual coffee a little "stronger" than Catholicism, but if the RCC brings him more inner peace and spiritual enlightenment than the C of E, that's his business and only his business. Good for him for making the switch. I wish him only the best.
As a Brit I am unsurprised that he has converted to catholicism. Firstly Cherie is catholic but, sendly and most importantly, the catholic church gives absolution for all sins no matter how big.

as for blair, a more honest thing to do was to sort of come out about his religion before he was elected the first time so that his voters know who they're voting for.
as a serb, i feel deeply distressed when i hear about anyone abandoning the religion of their ancestors. to us i guess, because of the sacrifice that out ancestors had to make to remain christian with a muslim invasion that lasted for centuries, it's a serious taboo, to other societies probably much less so. we don't think highly of people who convert to anything.
