Hey Mladen,

Just to make a note...it's great that there are public toilets at all. There are none in Chicago (my home town), so you can't walk down an alley without smelling the stench of urine (even after a long rain). Which is worse...a dirty public toilet, or a dirty public???

EUR 75K for a toilet? That must be one Hell of a toilet.

Does it play music when someone uses it? Can it do my taxes? Maybe it's one of those ergonomically designed toilets. Either way, if Serbia can afford toilets the same price as a Mercedes, the economy is doing far better than I thought.

I must make a note to visit it when I'm in Serbia this January!

Who cares how much was spent. As long as place got some well-needed facelift. Has anyone been to any of the public toilets in Serbia? You all know what I’m thinking then. I don’t even care if the money was embezzled as long as the place is clean. Last time I took my American girlfriend to Serbia I was ashamed to see her face every time she visited any of our public toilets. I just couldn’t explain to her that; yes, she had to pay to use the restroom, and yes, no money is ever going into keeping the restrooms clean.

NO Lenard! Serbia is looking to the WEST on this one! It is emulating the US (such as the US government price of $500 each for toilet seats) in an effort to look more like the West, leading to a smoother Euro-Atlantic integration!
