To brumsila and Kate.

My point is very clear. You can speculate as much as you want with my words. K-Albanians don't want, will not, NOW and in the FUTURE, resort to violence because it is against their initial goal, independence, and their ultimate goal (after independence, brumsila) to join EU.
Serbia is the one that doesn't seem interested to joint EU, that is hoping for a crack in EU unity and hoping for violence in Kosova so it can score some points in the international opinion. Serbia together with Russia will do the outmost to provoke violence in Kosova. As I said the events of two weeks and the opening of the serbian office in Northern Mitrovica proves this and is intended to do cause provocations.

Few weeks ago I went to visit my grandparents in Kosovo. At three different check points (two of them were manned with joint KFOR and Kosovo Police presence) I was harassed and money was extorted from me. When leaving my grandparents and their village group of Albanian kids were throwing rocks at my car (creating substantial damage) while their parents/grandparents watched. Great job KFOR! Keep it up! Soon you will help create most homogenous state in Europe.

The best protection for the Serbs living in Kosovo would be their departure for Serbia. After the independence of Kosovo, I don't really understand what they would be staying there for!

So, Miri, do you suggest that there will be no violence on the day after proclamation but few week after Albanians will just continue where they stopped in March 2004. So, Albanians will avoid violence as plaque just because its against their fundamental goal but otherwise Serbs would be just slaughtered as many times before. Then you stated "more prolonging the deadly status-quo, more are the chances that the province would resort to violence"- You again suggest if Kosovo does not get independence Albanians will just take the opportunity to incite the violence and slaughter the Serbs. So, therats of violence will become truth in one or another way.

Miri - "Truth of the matter is that those who oppose the independence, like some in this forum, would hope to see some violence at the expense of their brethren in Kosova."

That's most certainly not true in my case or that of many others. Violence is the last thing I would like to see.

The choice that you are presenting seems to be either become pro-independence or there will be violence.

Whether intended or not, this is blackmail; a veiled threat of violence.

While your guys are patrolling or prancing around cities, armed masked ANA man are prancing and making headlines. And we don`t see you going after them-either you are turning blind eye again or counting on them to do your job.
But protecting Serbian population - you are not.

Truth of the matter is that those who oppose the independence, like some in this forum, would hope to see some violence at the expense of their brethren in Kosova. The truth is also that K-Albanians will avoid the violence like the plague because it is against their fundamental goal. The problem is how to stop provocations coming from Belgrade. Just two weeks ago we saw "K-Serbs" attacking UNMIK representatives. This is also Russia's goal; more prolonging the deadly status-quo, more are the chances that the province would resort to violence.

Good sign for the thugs in KLA if the promise is hold.

No allowing of violence for an etnicly greater Albania!

The question is what the former warlords Thaci and Agim would say if the NATO troops started shooting at them in return for terror acts?
Do they really think that the american support would still continue then?
