Astonishing stuff Brian.

"It seems that Dragomir Milosevic's crime was that he shot back." Perhaps to the likes of you and ida but not in the eyes of the ICTY or almost all of those who witnessed the atrocities in besieged Sarajevo.

Firstly: I didn't mention the first Markale massacre but rather the second (you are aware the BSA were responsible for two such atrocities, aren't you?. Oh, and BSA means Bosnian Serb Army).

Secondly: While you are referring to the first BSA attack on Markale, you seem to have got yourself a little confused. So let me enlighten you: Stanislav Galic was FOUND GUILTY of orchestrating the first Markale attack (amongst other such cowardly acts).

Just as Dragomir Milosevic was found guilty of the second (again, amongst other such cowardly acts).

By the way,as you have no "sympathy for the Muslims in Sarajevo during the siege" are we to assume that you do at least mourn the countless Serbs and Croats killed in BSA attacks on Sarajevo?

I'd be interested to know as ida has previously referred to Sarajevo Serbs killed by BSA sniping and shelling as 'stupid people'.

I might have sympathy for the Muslims in Sarajevo during the seige if it weren't for the fact that between March 28, 1993 and April 27, 1994, they violated UN-brokered cease-fires in Sarajevo 514 times. (See David Harland's testimony at the Slobodan Milosevic trial; November 5, 2003; Transcript Pg. 28675)

Harland, the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping in Bosnia, said “The Muslims certainly understood that when they fired out of the city that [it] would provoke incoming Serb fire, which would make normal life in the city impossible.”

It seems that Dragomir Milosevic's crime was that he shot back.

Serbian responsibility for Markale has not been "proven beyond reasonable doubt" by the ICTY. In fact, Markale is a bone of contention among the ICTY judges. In the Galic case (Galic was D. Milosevic's co-accused) Judge Nieto-Navia issued a strong dissenting opinion regarding Markale.

ida: Every time there is mention of the siege of
Sarajevo you present the same conspiracy theories and, when challenged, present no evidence of their validity.

Dragomir Milosevic orchestrated the latter part of the brutal Bosnian Serb Army siege that claimed the lives of well over 11,500 citizens of Sarajevo, including countless Serbs.

The shelling of Markale in August 1995 was no different an attack to the first Markale attack as well as the gruesome attack that claimed the lives of dozens of young people in Tuzla in 1995.

Accordingly it is now proven beyond reasonable doubt that Dragomir Milosevic's thugs fired on Markale - not Armija BiH, not the HVO and not little green men from outer space.

Your knowledge of the siege of Sarajevo, the geography of the city and the testimonies given by UN personnel are very clearly limited.

Why not then simply respect the memories of the thousands of innocent victims of the siege of Sarajevo?

Python: Heaven help us if the Serbs are the true heavenly people. Where is my other comet B92, [that it was much more worse in areas conquered by the Serbs and away from the eyes of the international press and UN.] It is not right to censor or just have pro Serb comments the Serbs will only be talking to them selfs and their only skewed biased point of view with out the objective other side. Personally I don't see my point of view as inaccurate or wrong that has not been reported in other international news press. I have been noticing B92 censoring more often. Maybe it is in Serbia that B92 getting more heat from the politicians how don't like any independent free news organizations.

They leave out that the city was divided with 40,000 Muslims militants on one side versus the Serbs. The Muslims did control strategic high ground within the city, and they did, according to UN officers' testimony, control buildings along sniper's alley.

The Muslims were caught by the French marines using the former Parliament building to snipe at the UN and civilians.

The Muslims knew the Serbs would be blamed so it suited them to do many of the attacks. There was no military advantage for the Serbs in sniping at civilians in a city where people weren't allowed out by the Muslim government and army.

In an unblocked city, it would cause people to leave, but not so in Sarajevo.

UN officers have testified, as I said, and they wrote books on the Bosnian Muslim government forces strategy of using attacks to make bad PR for the Serbs - often done exactly the day before the UN decides on sanctions or NATO was to bomb, etc.

There was nothing heavenly about either of the two Markale massacres.

There was nothing heavenly about the entire siege of Sarajevo.

There is clearly nothing heavenly about Dragomir Milosevic - and hopefully there will be nothing heavenly about the rest of his life in prison.

Ridiculous! Everyone knows Markale was a typical bombing by Islamists, very similar to the ones that we hear about every day from Iraq and elsewhere. God will be the ultimate judge to all involved in this unjust campaign against Serbs, the true heavenly people.
