Bmrusila,

You’ve got some interesting intelligence there. Are you a secret Agent by any chance? Very interesting stuff though I have to say. Thank god people like you rarely come to power.

Kosovo, like all nations has the right for self-determination. Because:

1. It is an annexed territory
2. Even if one does not consider it to be a former colony, the fact that Serbia has used violence and force towards civilians demanding equal rights, has built a strong legal case for self-determination and independence.
3. Kosovo was part of former Yugoslavia, a country which no longer exists

I’m liking this century already ;-)))

The preservation of territorial integrity entails protection of ethnic minorities.... so pretty good idea to not do another Sloba-move.

My take on this is, Serbia could not use military force as that would mean war against NATO. That is far fetched. Its like a bad joke even to think about it!
So, let the pieces fall into place and everything will be fine.
I am tired of Serbian politicians comments when they complain that they're the victim and Kosova/o is breking the int'l law by declarin Independence.

Too much philosophy..too much Rambos, be real people.
Their is only one truth and history will prove that to you that sooner or later the LOCALS will have to settle their issues amongst themselves and when neither side budges(Kosovo) then sooner or later you will have a real war.
I know that historically Kosovo belongs to Serbia and now because the population in Kosovo has shifted we have to reward it with breaking the law of a sovereign nations territorial integrity??
Do you people even understand the precedent and how many nations in the world can follow that example??
So as much as the west likes to ignore major issues about Kosovo..the people that live and in the region won't forget the beheadings of civilians, the destruction of hundreds of churches, civilian Serbs having to live in barbed wire ghettos, the destruction of gravesites, the bombing of a bus full of civilians headed to a cemetery etc..all done by the albanians and the west wants to reward these actions with independence, then you all wonder why there is war in the Balkans.
I'm a teacher so the next time I catch a student cheating I will reward him with a 100% score..what has happened to common sense.

Bravo to this young minister once more!
Imagine if this type of talk occured 20 years ago, how much pain, money, time, we would have saved.

how about serbia call on ankara and ask them to reinstate their status as a "province" within the ottoman empire? let's see how willing you are to live under a system that mistreated you for so long. i'm sure the turks will offer you the broadest of rights just like you're prepared to offer the albanians.
doesn't feel very good does it?

If Serbia threatens violence, it will be isolated. If the albanians do they get independence. What a backwards world we live in.

“We’re not asking for Kosovo to integrate into our system. Essential autonomy means Kosovo taking care of its own business, but Serbia has not backed down from the symbolism of its sovereignty,“ Jeremić concluded.

what about UN? why not kosovo represent Serbia in UN or everywhere? or why not kosovo make foreign policy of serbia? why not kosovo have the president of serbia? why not albanian langauge? everything should be equal inside the union, and in common things.
if is not, then Independence.

With all due respect Mr. Jeremic but can you be more specific what does "symbolism of its sovereignty" means to you and Serbian govermant since you claim that Serbia will have nothing to do with Kosova.
Can anybody, such as : Princip,Kate, Paggy, Jovan and others answer on behalf of Mr. Jeremic.
Because , his statemant makes no sence to me.

“Asked why it had to happen so quickly, they replied that ’there would be many problems in Kosovo.’ When we asked what they meant by that, whether someone would start shooting someone else, they replied, ’yes.’ Do we have to discuss all this down the barrel of a gun?“ wondered Jeremić.

So this is all about. There would be some shootings. This means that Kosovo's ex soldiers and war criminals, today's respective politicans do know and are aware of KLA's existance. I am sure that KLA is under Thaci's and Cheku's control. I am sure that KLA is not just a harmless group of few soldiers but the army of who knowas how many thousands of troops. After independence proclamation this army will become legal Kosovo army full of war criminals.

Now, Thachi is afraid that this army will induce violence that will lead to new war and bloodshead. This means that this army is so huge that cannot be kept under the control any longer and supressed in case of violence. If Thachi do not bring the independence he will be assassinated first. And this is what EU supports. I am not surprised for USA being so supportive to violence but I am surprised for EU being so supportive.

So, now Albanian posters should not wonder any longer why Serbian Army takes care of its border in Presevo Valley.

Btw, last night I have seen in BBC documentary about Kosovo issue. The journalist asked Mr Djelic if Serbia wants to join EU. Mr Djelic answered that Serbia wants to join EU but the journalist was asking how is that possible if Serbia still want Kosovo as a part of Serbia. What does this mean? Either the blackmail Serbia to give up Kosovo for EU or EU clearly does not want Kosovo in its family.
