once again ,i will say too late guys, you lost your chance.
this just remind me the old times of the colonization- when serbs and montenegrins in that time were given money ,lands and houses to establish in kosova...
Do you really think lazar that your new "re colonization process" will succed? No chance guy!
of course all the money coming in kosova is welcomed, even if the intention of your gouvernement is to have money as a blackmail for local serb soumission to their order! It is already the case for them, if they disagree with belgrade stands, they have no wages today...
fredom alla serb!

Peter, we used to give funds directly to an albanian govoernment in Kosmet when they had autonomy, but they squandered the funds and misused them. Why should we pay them to buy serbian land? We do not want that. We need to help our own people. We can not finance an albanian with 10 kids...

The article mentions Velika Hoča, Orahovac, and Sirinićka Župa. I think it is not wise to invest in there because we do not have many Serbs over there currently. We need to invest in places where there are significant returnees, and try to expand communities... these small places need to have many more serbs before significant funding comes. Like, to get 1000 to move back at once, and then put in funding simultaneously... it's dumb to just throw money at small enclaves of 100 people... they're too small and too vulnerable from the vicious enemy.

Albanians are anti-Serbia just because they say Kosova instead of Kosovo or Kosmet. Kosova is a provocation.

"I would have thought that if Serbia wished to keep Kosovo, they would have funded development in Kosovo in general and not ethnically discriminated who it goes to."

The reason is that the international community and the UN is heavily funding the Kosovo Albanians but the Serbs are discriminated against and prevented from freedom of movement, jobs, etc. and use of Kosovo's hospitals.

The Serbs are the ones needing the help since they don't get access to Kosovo's hospitals and schools anymore as all the money and aid goes to the Albanians - who've gotten billions from the international community.

Serbia is taking care of the Serbs since they are the ones suffering severe discrimination and little to no freedom of movement. Nor can the Serbs far their land without getting shot at or raise their livestock without the Albanians stealing it and them never getting it back.

Additionally, Serbian homes and apartments were taken by Albanians and these are often rented out to the UN and international community which is a big source of money for the Albanians.

Serbia has also been paying for Kosovo's debt even though Serbs no longer have use of the infrastructure and institutions which Serbia is paying off.

yarsolav, keep your anger in check. In the field of sociology we conclude that the Kosovar-Serbs won't leave because they are "the trapped."

You honestly believe that living in a belgrade slum will actually be better than living in Kosova? Yea that's what I thought. And also stop spreading lies that the PM's are spreading hate, in fact they are NOT, why do you think they keep addressing the parliament in Serbian?

BTW Ceku is not 100% Albanian, nor is his wife. The only anti-anything around here is you and your friend in Serbia.

Yaroslav,
Albanians don't hate Serbs. Albanians have a hard time trusting them. How many times was our autonomy removed? How do I know that this Serbian person I'm talking to has chanted at home or with his friends death wishs against Albanians!? Albanians are more than ready to move on from the past.
In my opinion, and i've said this before, Kosovo Serbian population should be smart and take advantage of the position they are in to get funding from everybody, the Albanians, the EU, the international community and from Serbia. And, if a people of Kosovo is well, all others ones are happy for them. As in the above comments, I'm worried that with Balkan corruption, or even worse some sneaky Belgrade scheme this money might not go to the people.

No Albanian leader has ever bred hatred and violence. Since the beginning of the independence movement in Kosova, President Rugova and all the other individuals that held the governing posts, not a single one have EVER encouraged hate. All they called for is PEACE, multiethnic society, interethnic and inter-religious tolerance. While in Serbia, party that gets most of the votes is the one that advocates expulsion of all Albanians from Kosova.

Jaroslav: ”2. When have they been threatened. Some Serbs have themselves joined those institutions and Serbia has done nothing to them.”

Democracy allows an individual to decide if they want to participate in an election or not. In the Kosova case, they will enter the parliament even if they boycotted the elections. Why? Because Kosova’s constitutional framework has seats reserved for Serbs. Serbs knew this, and took advantage to have their cake and eat it to. This way, they pleased Belgrade, and still got their seats at the parliament.

Jaroslav: ”3. Again #2 applies. And Serbs did participate in those elections if they wanted too, or are you not aware that Serb parties entered the Kosovo parliament.”

To fill you in on #2, pretty much, if 30 people vote for you and you are a Serb, you get a seat at the parliament. Biggest positive discrimination ever seen in the world… That’s ok, just to please the Serbs, this is acceptable.

Jaroslav: ”#4. It will not improve their lives. Even KFOR officials themselves said that the Serb dissapearance will occur faster once independence occured. Or are you choosing to only say select few facts.”

And Yaroslav, how will inclusion of Kosova within Serbia improve their lives? Would that mean that Serbia would once again open its prisons and allow all the Serb criminals to serve as policemen in Kosova like they did in the 90’s?

Come on, even Tomislav Nikolic knows that they will never get a chance to do that again.

I would have thought that if Serbia wished to keep Kosovo, they would have funded development in Kosovo in general and not ethnically discriminated who it goes to.

If indeed they are willing to give up on Kosovo and let it be independent, then sure, funding the Kosovo Serbs is a good notion. Otherwise, I am getting the feeling that Serbia does not have anything on the agenda for all people living in Kosovo, only for the history of the land.

as albanian i agree with serbia helping improve the life of serbs in kosovo.
I like this proposal, but i think politicans in serbia will use these funds for their own or make trouble. that what they want to see in kosovo. and not for improving serbs conditions and life. because if serbs will have a good life in kosovo they will not want to break from kosovo, the same was with albanians, they didnt had anything, thats why they will finaly get independence

I absolutelly agree that Serbs South from Ibar should be enormously helped in financial terms in order to create decent living conditions. However, Serbs in North should not be withheld anything. All Serbs living in Kosovo must know and be ensured that Serbia will help them by all means. They may freely rely on Serbia. I think that Serbian diaspora should be financialy involved in this project as well.

Gezim

The biggest help that Serbia could give for the Serbian minority would be the following
1. Stop feeding them with the feelings of hatred towards their neighbors
2. Stop intimidating and threating them if they express their free will to join Kosova's Institutions
3. Stop throwing bombs and scaring those Kosovar Serbs that would prefer to live together with Albanians and work in Kosova's institutions, as well as participate in the elections
4. Tell them the truth that Kosova's independence is an unavoidable upcoming reality and living together with Albanians in the independent Kosova will improve lives of all the people of Kosova.
