Watch and see Ardlina. My mother in law had to learn the Albanian language just to go to school. & thats when Serbia had full control of Kosovo.

Delije, in Michigan, what oathe do your kids (if you have any) pledge in school? Serbias's or America's?

Kosovar's don't care what you believe (religiously) or to what the kids pledge to.

Mike,
I could not agree with you more on this issue. They do live in Kosova/o, they have to think about their own lifes and families and how to make a living and prosper.
Some here forget that the LAW in Kosova/o has been written by the Britts and French. From criminal law to pharmaceuticals, medical etc etc.

To Yaroslav,
I would ask you, what would you do if you were in their shoes.?

Delije,
Their kids in no way will pldge to the Albanians. Albanians don't want Serbs to become Albanians. Under minorities rights they can pledge to whatever they want to. Kosovo government has a duty to protect this right but not to dictate what symbols they chose.

Congratulations to those Parties! Really good news. Even in Albania we have a Greek minority in the south and they have always been represented in parliament with some of the best outpsoken politicians! If they are smart they can play the "special minority" card and get both benefits from Kosovo, Serbia and the international community.

lazer,

it doesn't matter if he has been offered as Deputy PM post. It is just a propaganda ploy. Same thing goes for the Serbs participation in parliament and these sham elections. They can't make any changes, they are used for propaganda. The simple fact is that they are 'useful idiots' for the seperatist goals of Albanians. Majority of Serbs did not vote and hence these people do not represent the interests of Serbs in Kosovo.

With all due respect to Serbs referring to those partaking in the Kosovo government as Vuk Brankovic's:

They live in Kosovo. You don't. When all is said and done, they have to take care of themselves. No one else is going to do it for them. Regardless of the Kosovo outcome, and regardless of the level of independence given to the province by the international community, the K-Serbs have to take matters into their own hands to protect their assets and their means of living. I encourage all K-Serbs to participate and show Thaci et al that Kosovo is their home too and that they have every right to live there, work there, and politically participate there.

You can always spare a bob or two and get yourself a decent and submisive Serb for some "windows dressing".
Now , lets talk about that barb wire and daily attacks...

Number of ballots that have been found invalid after parliamentary and local elections in Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) is bigger than number of votes that these “Serbian representatives” gained from KiM-Serbs. In other words, they are not and can never be legitimate representatives of the Serbs in Albanian Assembly in KiM and thus nobody recognizes them. It is well known that even members of their immediate family did not vote them, and reasons for that are more than evident all around KiM.
There is no any nation in the Europe which is that much deprived in all means as the KiM-Serbs. Their freedom of movement is limited, their real estate usurped, all towns in KiM ethnically cleaned from the Serbs – except northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, etc.

Come to think of it, maybe this is the compromise we've all been waiting for, which the Troika negotiations managed so assiduously to avoid?

Peter Sudyka

I am glad to hear that. It is good to know that the kosovo Serbs are willing to partake in everyday life in Kosovo, might be the first sign of reconcilliation.

Mr. Petkovic,
you dont need Belgrade, go on about your own business and your people and you will be fine. You see if a position of a Deputy Prime Minister has been offered to a K-Serb, thats great news.
It contradicts everything this Government in belgrade saids and does as far as Kosova/o.

One Vuk Brankovic is not enough. Now we have got four. How many Serbians voted for them? They ask even for congratulations! I was told that some of them think that they are Napoleons too. There is an Internet site named “Proud to be an idiot”. I’ll recommend the article there.

There is light at the end of the Tunnel. Serbs have decided to play ball and let see how cooperative they will be. What a coaltion to join with PDK to help govern Kosovo i am sure there will be people crying. Like i said when Hasim speaks people listen even the Serbs. They know who can protect them and gurantee there rights. We know who controls the KLA and his finger on Pristina. This is just a beginining.

Big congratulations, one of the more positive pieces of news we've heard for some time. By the way, is it true that Thaci has offered the vice-presidency to a K Serb leader? If so, again very positive, I hope he follows through with it and the Serbs take it up. Just a pity more Serbs did not feel able to resist Belgrade's "pressures and threats" that Rada Trajkovic spoke of.

Zero end game never suited Kosova Serbs as they bound to loose everything by this never ending confrontation. Telegraph article might have raised alarm bells even in BG but this latest move outplays them big time. Their negotiating role is finished with the end of direct talks, their role as interested party will be drastically reduced if this agreement is reached.

This is good news, and more K.serbs should stand up to Belgrade. I believe this will be the case more often, for serbs in the south of Kosovo at least, as Belgrade has shown that it does not care about them at all.
