Sell Mladic and the others out. Sell them out to those that have bombed you with cluster bombs and depleted uranium. Why on earth would you debase yourselves by courting the EU.

from US robert-0 to EU robert -- your comment is spot-on (sorry, i like that britt phrase.) none -- and i mean NONE -- of the serb war criminals would have gone to the hague had the sword of domecles not been hanging over that regime's neck. none of the exits to the hague have been truly voluntary -- that was just another kostunica fiction, obviously. true, that crazy sesejl gave himself up, but in that case i strongly suspect other motives: his criminal record inside serbia was/is simply overflowing.

and now, one of my unaswered questions (if anyone ever actually reads this posting): why is democratic serbia not pressing democratic russia to extradite our beloved mira markovic for her role in the massive corruption and illegal dealings of the 90's, not to mention the bloody wars and genocides? can someone, ANYone please take a stab at this? i'll even accept a B92 moderator, a host, director, anyone!!! can't blame the big bad hague for this one, eh?

PJD, here's a better case:

Orlando Bosch. He is a man who has carried out terrorist attacks against Cuba (including placing a bomb on at least 1 commercial flight). He was trained by the CIA. He is wanted for terrorism in several countries. He lives in the United States and will never be sent to jail. Furthermore, Bush Jr. and Sr. and Bushes father have all given some kind of medal or even money to him.

According to , both, goose and gander : both Mladic and Karadjic are unique cases.
Therefore the International Law does not apply, nor shall it be used as precedence for any similar case in the world.
Will someone, finally, compile the list of ALL the International Laws that Serbia has to abide by but can not call upon? Please! It is getting rather grotesque and bizarre.

who cares about Del Ponte and her western Hague no one in the east cares let them put Americans in the Hague for murder of Serbs and Iraqis and Afghans then we could talk. otherwise no deal with no west and their so called prisons for Serbs put Croats and bosniaks and albanians in jail for their crimes, and yet they let go naser oric out of jail so this just means no SERBS in jail

If and until Mladic is found then this is a moot point.

NATO has had 12 years to find Karadzic and failed so having a go at Serbia for not finding Mladic seems a little disingenuous.

The US took many years to capture Eric Rudolph and haven't had much luck in finding Osama bin Laden.

Well mrs. Ponte, at one time you claimed that you believed reports that said Gotovina was in Canada. Two days before Gotovina was arrested you claimed he was in Mostar, the next day you said he was in Split and then Mostar the day he was arrested in Spain. I think we shouldn't trust you.

furthermore. If he is in Serbia, then tell the Serb authorities where. If you do not trust them then tell the west and have them send a commando team to arrest him.

The simple fact is that you do not know where he is, so you are resorting to trying to guess where he is. I also suggest that next time you talk about Hague fugitives you might want to say that Hadzic is in Belarus since their have been reports that he is.

Kostunica knows where Mladic is and of course, as many Serbs on this forum, and in Serbia itself, they all simply say that Serbia has delivered enough Serbs to The Hague.

That's the attitude most Serbs have and we don't have the will, us the western countries, to take drastic measures and make Se rbia comply.

Talks! Talks! Nothing but futile talks!

Oh how I would like or cherish the day when that same standard was applied to all other former Yugoslavian republics.

To be continued....

Good bye Carla, it was nice to work with you. I wish you more achievements in new post. So, guess there was no any farewell party :).

Very good Carla. International law is more than mentioning resolution 1244. Serbia has to stick to international obligations and arrest Mladic.
The story about Mladic not being in Serbia is so ridiculous, nobody is believing that.
Mladic is in Serbia, protected by his friends. As an EU citizen I don't like have fellow member states protecting war criminals. The EU should never allow Serbia to enter or sign any agreement with the EU before delivering Mladic to Hague.
And mr Kostunica, stop crying about respect for international law. Start first to apply international obligations and arrest. Very simple.
