This shows fast police work whereas in Kosovo they still haven't caught anyone from the bombing of the brothel, have they?

The Kosovo police and UN don't seem to catch most of the criminals in the past several years.

To Aleksandër Gjoni in comment number 5, that program is nearly a decade old (from the late 90s). Serbia today is a VERY different place. Compared to both its neighbors and the West, the crime rate is extremely low. Yes, there are mafia killings, ut there are EVERYWHERE. The measure for me is street crime, rape and theft/burglary. In every are Serbia is massively safer than most countries.

the problem with crime is that its everywhere. the problem with crime in kosovo is that its everywhere plus none of the cases get solved. remember the bombing on bill clinton blvd, which is the funniest name for a street EVER. but the bombing was not funny, two people died. they said the so-called kosovo police was suspected of planting that bomb to get back at some other group of criminals... imagine that! but what about that investigation, any news?

From my previous experience in these threads, if this would hapen in Kosovo, we would have had at least 20 posts with "Albanian criminalized society bla bla bla...". It is so shameful!!! Few days ago I read some Serbian newspapers, and as my Serbian friends would know, they full of reports on horrible crimes all over Serbia. Amongst other things, I was shocked to read about a father raping his 13 years old daughter. For my international friends who are so much in love with Serbia, I have a link which will give them a better understanding of a "criminalized society".

Unfortunately it's in Serbian, but I guess you will always have a Serbian friend in hand to translate if for you.

“Beaten, kidnapped, raped, stripped of dignity and rights and then in danger of being shot, probably because they cant share the legal wealth with a rival gang.”

“Sounds like a great place to live. I wonder if these are same gang members who set on fire a police officer two days ago in a football match”

“These people make me sick.”

“Local people should do as much as they can to help to stop those illegal, terrorist and deadly actions by criminal elements deeply rooted in the society.”

Balkanians/Ex-Yugoslavians, see your postings. I think that they apply to this article too. Maybe they were dealing same trade as the ones in Prizren, or drug trafficking or … What a tangled web you are waving at not US hahaha

Beaten, kidnapped, raped, stripped of dignity and rights and then in danger of being blown up, probably because your 'owner' is in some battle with a rival gang.

Sounds like a great place. I wonder if this is the same gang which poured fuel over a 14 year old girl and set her alight because she wanted to stop 'working' (as the UN reported earlier this year).

These people make me sick. Anyone found using these places where women and children are being forced to prostitute themselves should be charged with rape and locked up.

Local people should do as much as they can to help to stop this illegal and disgusting trade.

Clearly this is an attack by one mafia gang against another and looks like its about to get nastier given the severity of the attack.

The UN are not soley to blame for the crime ridden society that has permeated every aspect of existance in Serbia's province under its tutelage. NATO and the whole criminal/terrorist/polictical hierachy that dominate this mafiocracy are equally to blame.

Just leave them to their own devices and the Albanians will self destruct.
(Dragan, 3 December 2007 15:00)

Dont worry Ahmet Serbia has its criminals under control whereas Albanians have their criminals IN control.
Big difference there.
