Hague: Haradinaj plans no defense

That’s a huge gamble. Massive legal bills, a separate fund set up on purpose and in the end no case for defence. One may wonder about the proportionality between the case brought forward and efforts by defence legal team. If Ben Emmerson is proven right on this one, the Haradinaj case will be exposed as nothing but a political show trial from the past and as such should never have been brought up before judges in the first place.
Let’s see how this turns out.

I smell a rat. Not that I have any sympathy for that thug but I think he's being left out to dry, or in other words he's been encouraged by false advice.

Still, his trial will be remembered for the sheer amount of witnesses who were too petrified to testify.

Its would be better for everybody involved if he was to just silently be written out of history.

You Serb Camp call this man a thug but yet what you accuse him of is not THUGARY. Thugs don't fight in wars, thugs don't defend their country, thugs don't give up willingly to go hundreds of miles away to some court to face fictitious accusations for his people.

All the readers know are some pictures they have seen of Haradinaj in UCK uniform. Let's say that what these people claim that they saw under his orders all these people being killed. They would be traumatized, shocked, emotionally unstable to fully recognize the captors faces. How hard is it to mix peoples faces up? Not that hard at all.

I don't blame them for no defense. These accusations get more and more pathetic by the day, seriously. When Thaçi becomes prime I can bet that Belgrade will somehow arrange for ICTY to call on him for Hague... Enough is Enough!

How nice of you to compliment Vojislav Seselj. I believe that thugs should have a fair trial but I dont have any emotional investment in 'protecting' accused war criminals.

Then you are not following his trial closely. Besides thankfully you wont be making the decision. It seems as if you want to believe the guy is innocent. Now if a civilian leader (as in other democratic countries) was Prime Minister of Kosovo nobody would be able to accuse him of war crimes. But if warlords are in charge what do you expect?

ida, please. For the last time, check your facts. Haradinaj was never accused of raping anyone. It's all in the indictment. The only thing he's accused of personally doing is kicking a guy in the back.
And as for the comments about Seslj... who ever said that Seslj was a thug? From my understanding he's intelligent, sophisticated and personable. He just also happens to be insane.

Oh yes it is. He raped a young Roma girl and raped and tortured others as well. He and his followers killed Albanian civilians as well.
