There is NO reason for Serbia to join the organization whom terror bombed her people. The PfP is good enough.Serbs should be proud of the fact that they are not part of NATO sending their young men and woman to
imerial adventures.

Response:
I merely stated the reason why we are talking about this issue (ie answering your question) without stating my personal opinion on whether Serbia should join the mentioned alliance, which BTW is doing everything to woo Serbia, including training its armed forces in its member countries and in Serbia... Yes, it has been going on for quite some time now. Look it up, perhaps it sheds some light on the issue in question. As when it comes to the statement of the high ranking KFOR officer I can only say it speaks loads about how KFOR is doing everything to bring the IDPs back.

NATO never. Europe should instead follow the model of Ireland, Switzerland, Finland, austria and Sweden. They are militarily neutral, part of the EU (in Switzerland's case not a member but well integrated into EU structures) and not part of NATO.

A kind retort to Jelena,
"..which was so far aiming at membership.."
Whose aim?
Please, make no mistake: those (few) who are whispering NATO-ear-pleasing nonsense have no weight among the average Joe-The-Serb of this world, and are doing so for their own , personal, opportunistic needs. Considering the events of 1994, 1999 and 2004 this should not come as a surprise to you, should it?
As late as yesterday, the commanding officer of NATO forces in KiM states that (paraphrasing): Serbs will die out anyhow.
Does this sound to you, personally, as a organization you should aim to join?

Jelena

To Gunar Knob:
Because dear Gunar Knob, Serbia should decide on the future course of its defense policy, which was so far aiming at membership in NATO (which BTW was stronly encouraged by NATO).

Though wouldn't it just be funny (more like tragically ironic) if Serbia were to join NATO while NATO continues to serve as peacekeepers in Kosovo :)

And you though VS was forever removed from the Field of Blackbirds.

Of course not NATO for Serbia!
Why should we? If Sweden, Austria, Finland, Switzerland are doing just fine without NATO, why do we need them?

Let all the other NATO countries send their soldiers to die in Iraq and Afghanistan and upcoming war in Iran for the sake of Uncle Sams !
