If Ceku or any of the rest of them were to explain publicly what their painful compromise really was, he would probably explain that forcing out more than 100,000 Serb residents from KiM is somehow a painful compromise, and flexibility.

Jess,

Ok you are right, now I noticed that Ceku gave this statement. I thought that Admiral continued to speak on the behalf of Ceku :). I appologise to Admiral. Did not pay enough ittention that it was Ceku :))). Anyway Ceku then did not give any explanation.

Jess,

The article attributes to Ceku or Pristina's flexibility and painful compromise without explanation what was real flexibility expressed by Albanians, or Ceku, or Pristina or what was the painful compromise. What compromise, where is the compromise? If admiral already mention this then where is the further explanation?

bmrusila, If I read the article correctly, VOA is actually attributing the "painful compromise, more flexible, blah blah blah" to Ceku, and not Admiral Ulrich. Whisch would fit better, as I believe that Admiral Ulrich is too smart to make such a reckless statement of support for the Albanian side. It wouldnt fit with some of his past statements on the matter.

Nowadays many people can give some sort of statements in TV. This so called Admiral says that Albanians experessed serousness and have been more flexible than the other side. Hmm, I must wonder why he did not mention in what way Pristina was flexible without any sustainable document that besides independence would actually contain a framework of future organization of society. This so called Admiral either did not follow the negotiation process or he is just saying what he was told to say. Perhaps Albanians had no experts to write them the framework. They just rely on Ahtisaari plan which serves them as sort of holy book. Perhaps Albanians even do not know and have no idea how some society should be organised and runned.

Furthermore, this so called Admiral claims that Pristina made painfull compromise. I wonder what is the compromise that Pristina made. Oh I get it, perhaps postponing the violence and further slaughtering of Serbs and their cultural heritage. If Admiral meant this then I agree with him that Albanians did make a painfull compromise.

The journalists of VOA did not ask the questions of crucial importance and one of the question was supposed to be:

- explain what was the Albanian flexibility in negotiaton process what does flexibility refear to, in what way flexibility was expressed and

-the other question should be what Admiral meant by this painfull compromise.

I am sure that Admiral would not know to answer this questions.

After his statement I feel free to interpret it my way as I alrady did since the statement given by this so called Admiral lack of mere.

The US will get around the security issue very simply and easily. They'll tell the KLA to declare unilateral independence, then say that the Serbs in the north are trying to partition Kosovo. That'll be the green light for the ANA and KLA to move in and forcibly remove the Serbs. During this time, NATO will say that it is overwhelmed and doesn't have the necessary manpower. When the Serbs are removed and the ALbanians have control, NATO will say they have regained control!!!

However the situation plays out after 10th December, the simple facts are these. If there is no negotiated settlement neither Serbia or Kosovo will EVER get into the EU. In the intervening period, Kosovo will have to rely on internatinal aid to survivive. Some Albanians have stated here that that is not a problem. My advice to them is to wake up and smell the coffee. Your leaders relaise the gravity of that scenario which is why they are desperate for international recognition, i.e. UN recognition. They know that without that, Kosovo is sunk as a nation.
