Well comments like yours, Jovan and Canadian, needs no further comment really.

Look at your comments, I mean MG's President said will accept only compromise and yet you are reading as "no recognition". How on earth can you twist his comment like that? Are we reading the same article or not?

Just to remind you that we haven't declared our independence as yet so this "I told you so" is not valid. As it will never be in your lifetime.

Montenegro was a republic. Kosovo was and is a province.

Hope Montenegro will back international law on this one!

No special deal for Kosovo!

And again: I am doing what I can to stop this.

More Albanians should join us fighting ILLEGAL independence!

When there is a deal: fine, both go your own way.

No deal: no independence!

I would not be so sure.

KS what are you talking about? lol
Montenegro depends on kosovar tourists?
The majority of their turists are serbs and its the fact. If you go there you will see.

I believe that Montenegro wont recognize Kosovo and Metohija's independence. On the other hand, I am sure that Croatia will recognize it with pleasure, and for Slovenia not yet sure but there is great chance it will. But who really cares as long as Serbia react propperly afterwards by dismissing the trade hospitality to those countries.

I don't see how a country like Montenegro with its coastline would want to go to landlocked Kosovo with NATO and UN soldiers running around and no infrastructure.

BTW Albania is its own country, why do you speak as if Albania has anything to do with Kosovo?

Hat’s off to my Clansmen!

Now would be an excellent time for Montenegro to play up its cultural and ethnic ties to both Serbs and Albanians and to form a constructive role in a settlement based upon mutually agreed terms. It’s the only way to keep the Balkans stable in the long term. If the Balkans join the EU and go to war again, it will destroy the EU. Don’t be foolish with your future.

We understand the desire for independence from Serbian rule, yet have a deep shared reverence for Kosovo as do the Serbs. We understand the history of the region. Who better to serve the role as middle man if not we Montenegrins? Hopefully B92 will recognize the importance of Montenegro retaining close ties ethnically and culturally to both Serbia AND Albania and encourage more discussion of the subject.

Jovan give KS his due its true that Montenegro needs Kosovo Albanians for tourism (although one could easily argue that Kosovo Albanians need the Montenegrin coast). The problem with this is that due to sheer numbers (ignoring the ethnic similarities and common history) Montenegrins need Serb tourists a hell of a lot more. Thats because there are a hell of a lot more Serb tourists than Albanian tourists.

KS if it comes to a competition between Serbs and Albanians the Montenegrins will pick Serbs in the end. Thats something you will have to deal with.

Short term politics may mean that it was politically expidient to persue a pro Montenegro (or anti Serb) policy but now Montenegro has moved on.
Dont get caught out thinking it was due to some long term attitude. As usual in the Balkans what seemed one way on the surface was something else entirely underneath.

the fact that the name is Kosovo aside, KS, what do you dream at night?

"Kosova doesn't rely on Montenegro trade wherease Montegro loves the Kosovar Tourism during summer months."

are you kidding? "kosovar" tourists in Montenegro???

they can´t stand on their own legs..instead of that, they desperately depend on money coming from the diaspora and some home-grown mafia-business... and you want to sell us that nonsense about Kosovo being an economic-heavyweight???

KS

Montenegro needs Kosova more than Kosova needs Montenegro. Kosova doesn't rely on Montenegro trade wherease Montegro loves the Kosovar Tourism during summer months. If Montenegro thinks that it can go against America and EU and not recognize Kosova....go right ahead. The Albanian beaches are becoming more and more attractable every year, I'll vote with my dollar elsewhere.

I'm a little perplexed because Montenegro's position was anti-Serb a while ago as was Croatia's and Slovenia's. I don't believe Montenegro would go out on a limb for Serbia.

For those Albanians in Kosovo who actually believe that Montenegro would support your illegal declaration of independence I hate to tell you “I told you so” and furthermore you can expect the same statements from soon from Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and even Croatia. Half a dozen states from the EU have said they 100% don not support your independence, about 15 of them are still undecided. None of South America supports you, neither do the Caribbean Islands, nor much of Africa including the south. India, says no, Russia of course says no, so does China and most of Asia. When you think about it who do you have? The USA, France, Italy, maybe Canada but it seems unlikely now and sorry to disappoint you Germany will say not too! Proof of that is they are sending 600 troops the North of Kosovo so that later they can claim they will not support an unattainable forced solution and put there troops in harms way.
