I have no idea why is this event even on the news. For all I know, the principal himself could've broken that window or kids playing ball. This is no way no how a crime and I'm even asking myself why in a hell am I waisting my time commenting on this useless "news" anyways.

peggy

I'll try posting my comment again.
Here we go again. The response from Albanians is predictable. Either they claim this is Serbian propaganda, as the Albanians never do anything wrong or the Serbs deserved it for their brutality and crimes against the Albanians.

Starting of with this is just some silly kids or similar is only trying to make everyone think that this sort of violence is not systematic but done by some frustrated silly kids.

It's time the Albanians started taking responsibility for their crimes and stop excusing them.
One can almost predict Albanian comments.

If Albanians want independance go to Albania you already have a home. Kosovo is part of Serbia, Albanians only moved there to get away from terror conditions in Albania. Serbia gave them everything. All these politicans and media need to stop the lies. And people need to stop listening to radio, watching tv and buying newspapers from nations like USA, UK, Germany and then you'll see the lies stop as well. Albanians in Kosovo, that land will always be Serbian no matter what name it carry's. You will always live on Serbian land.

Nikshala - of course, as you know, I disagree that independence will improve security.

But your comment is interesting and thanks for your polite and thoughtful response.

For the KPS is investigating the incident! I bet they'll catch the perps of this crime, like they did in every other case where serbs or other non-albanians or their property was attacked.

Maybe some of you don't know the fact that Serbian police tear-gassed Albanian elementary schools during 90-s. Yes, elementary schools with children inside!!! Just to give you a fresh reminder of 'who you paid and what they did' with your Belgrade tax money and why it is so hard for two communities to co-exist. What if any of that happened to your children, what would you think or even do?

gsap

pre 16 godina

When I was stationed in Ljipljan in '99, this kind of thing was an everyday occurance. And everytime we managed to catch someone stoning a school,(s)he turned out to be albanian. Would be very surprised if this wasn't the case here too...

Two wrongs don't make a right. Why don't you stop pointing the finger away from your body & point it AT your body too, nikshala?

Your comment is neither refreshing or new - just evidence of how WE'RE the bad guys & you're the ones being taken advantage of, which we all know isn't true!

How about the Serbian children who were shot & killed during a summer swim in 2003? OR was that our fault too?

ida

I think the "convenient" power outage to cover the attack shows it was coordinated by the ethnic Albanians. They've also had power outages in the past right before a church was blown up. It's an ethnic Albanian government-criminal-terrorist-populist style attack.

yes it does make me sympathetic, as I said its a despicable act.

I do think that K. Serbs in the south are in a very difficult position - I don't just mean in terms of security or economy, but also the way Belgrade uses them and blackmails them 'you are either with us or with them'.

Whatever the status outcome, those serbs will remain in Kosovo, therefore they should take part in elections and improve their conditions.

I am not going to deny here that there are albanians in Kosovo that hate serbs passionatly, there are - but many of them have lost very closed ones during the war, and they associate anything serbian with that. It will take many years, effort, and courage from both sides to improve the relations between two communites. Its not going to happen over short time.

I think the biggest obstacle between the two communities is the unresolved status and all the tension associated with it. The situation is definetly getting more tense by the day, and this is not going to improve security.

You might disagree with this, but I genuinely believe that the security of K. serbs in south will improve after independence of Kosovo.

kate

Nikshala - there is no excuse for what happened to your school either, but surely that should make you more sympathetic to the plight of these Serbian children.

Boris

These so called 'unknown assailants' will probably do more damage if and when Kosovo does not receive independence. I keep hearing about 16000 UN troops in Kosovo. Who are they protecting???

nikshala

pre 16 godina

while I think this crime is despicable, and whoever done it should be punished - its kind of entertaining to see serbs here taking the moral high ground.

What serbs did pre-99 was much worse.

I was 7 or 8 years old when we were tear gassed in school buy serbian police in the beginning of 90s! dozens of kids ended up in hospital. That was one of many incidents across the country.

But hey - I guess we were future KLA terrorists.

John

Pathetic, Everyday we hear of Serbs being attacked in one way or another. When will it be enough for Albanians. I really think they will terrorize all Serbs in Kosovo to death. Even if they get independence.

Dragan

pre 16 godina

Another daily example of albanian 'tolerance' towards minorities. Just more proof that there is no place for this kind of behaviour in the EU. There will be no rewarding xenophobia by granting them 'greater albania'.

Olf

pre 16 godina

It says that the attacker are unknown! Attacks like this happen everyday in EU by drunk people in bus stops, they break the glass and if that happens to be near the house occupied by Asians that this should be seen as racist attack.
Most of you have some to conclusion that it was done by Albanians. On the other side, knowing the history of Balkan and how everything started and seeing in the past that Serbs are very capable and very well known to do these kind of things just to destabilize the situation I would not be blamed if I said that Serbs have done it.

I condemn every attack of this kind.

It's these types of social problems that the Kosovo government have to work on in order to ensure multiculturalism and compliance with treaty No. 157 (Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities) as per the Copenhagen Criteria if they ever wish to exist as a functioning state that will eventually want to join the EU (that is, if the governments of those EU countries that will not recognize Kosovo based on unilateral declaration of independence will not veto their membership first) that will not be subject to partition due to minorities having enough of being oppressed by the majority.

It's really sad to hear about such hatred in the Balkans. Of course Serbs and Albanians will point fingers at each other as to why such acts occur, fact of the matter is it's a chicken and egg question and it is pointless. For God's sake, it is a children's school! What possible aim could their be in stoning a school?

Kosovo cannot expect to function peacefully, let alone exist unless steps are taken to protect its minorities, that includes their places of worship and education. Serbia will lose Kosovo because of their actions, but this sort of thing will cause an independent Kosovo to fall apart as well (at the Ibar River), and Kosovo's government will not be able to stop this.

This happens when parents teach own kids already from the crib period via toddler and preschool age to hate others, in this case Albanians hate non-Albanians, particulary Serbs. This hatred cumulate by the time and we get adolescents and adults whose only satisfaction is to hate someone. Rage and animosity become a daily needs. Those negative feelings as the time goes on,cumulate more and more creating extra energy which has to be evacuated in one or another way. Albanians choose this way, takes just a bit of force and the effect of terrorizing will maybe yield fruit. It takes just a bit of energy to try first with terrorazing and the rest of energy is stored for case of escalation of real violance.

kate

Very nice - terrorising little kids! Even if this was just a bit of 'playfulness' by unruly Albanian kids I wonder if their parents told them in no uncertain terms when they got home that what they had done was unacceptable!?

Srboslav
