Šutanovac: We'll respond to terror from Kosovo

It's interesting to notice that the defense minister considers Kosovo just like Macedonia, another country. He doesn't have to worry too much about trouble in Serbia. No one intends to create any trouble anywhere, as long as Serbs stay clear of Kosovo after proclamation of independence

We did not expect any less. Of course you have to react rapidly if violence break out. In my opinion, Albanians from Presevo Valley do have some plan if unofficial partition takes place such as Northern Kosovo partition. In order to compensate the loss of Northern Kosovo they will create an unrest in Presevo Valley. Serbian Army must be ready. But lets hope such events wont take place. It is just a presumption anyway.

Does that mean another ethnic cleansing in southern Serbian?

great Serbia recognizes Kosova as independent state same as Macedonia. Stop negotiations and declare UNILATERARLY the independent KOSOVA (I have never heard of the bilateral declaration of independence, have you?which state was that?)

He knows Kosovo is part of Serbia just like me and you. However, he did mean that its administered by the international community. Because it cannot administer itself. Its really sad. Although, no worries once the autonomy is established then Kosovo under the guise of Belgrade will start to function once again. CCCC

Just curious, has Kosova ever functioned normally "under the guise of Belgrade" other than using military force? I guess this is what some people mean by this kind of function, another mass murder.

Are you sure this Šutanović is Serbian ? He consider Kosova and FYR Of Macedonia neighboring states of Serbia . He must be either realistic either Albanian hidden behind Serbian name .

I think not only the Russians would support a strong hand acting if some flipped out albanian fanatics made that mistake...

My dear minister, I would suggest you do like former President Slobodan Milosevic, and you sent 60 000 troops to crush the «terrorists»!

Serbia can't defend itself from terrorists.
In '90s it was a different scenario with Serbia being 5th in Europe in arms, today it is.....who knows.

Sure and it was OK for Serbia to act as a rouge terrorist state and prepetutate horrendous murderous violence . Murder over 100,000 defenseless men ,woman and children cause massive destruction ,over a million refugees that kind of violence not seen since WW2. In Slovenia ,Croatia , Bosnia and Kosovo. Serbia will be looking again for every excuses for any reason to massively out of every proportion to over react. To clean out people it does not want.

just 2 observations -- the serbian defense minister clearly recognizes that kosovo/a ain't serbia and vis versa; and 2 -- milosevic's willing executioners are ready to go -- again!! gosh, history really does repeat itself?

Milosevic's approach was obviously the wrong way to go, to kill thousands of innocent civilians due to terrorism of a few individuals will obviously lead to that population wanting to break away.

However I agree that if indeed the terrorism continues, Serbia should act and neutralize them as soon as possible. Of course this time they should not harm innocent civilians.

It is sad but not surprising that Belgrade is preparing the army to Kosovo (again). There is nothing anyone can do about that. The Serbian nationalism brought Serbia in the depths of despair, and it is still not over. Military action will not work this time either. The international troops are there and armed. They are real soldiers with real bullets and will shoot! Belgrade is risking being attacked again, and maybe this time the international military troops would not stop at the Kosovo border.
