nikshala,

Firstly, I have been living in Kosovo, precizely in Pristina for more than 3 years. I have been studing overe there but this is not important information. To be honest I have never seen police torturing any Albanian (I was not present in such situation). I am saying this becuse from the stories that Albanians often create some gets impression that you people have been beaten up regualry in every kind of situations, including streets (heard many times from Albanians but never saw). However, I do condemn these kind of tretaments is such existed. I also must emphisize that every crime commited by Albanians and if such crime was on its way to be prosecuted in law terms, Albanians would turn it into repression against them by the police. They would turn it into another sense as a sick Serbian animosity towards the Albanians. You Albanians have been using each oportunity to make it look like abusing of human rights or bad tratment of national minorities. So each clash between police(Serbian police at that time) and criminals is seen as a repression. I don't believe much in Albaninan stories but I also do not believe to police either so I made some line. This means that there is truth in Albanian stories to some extend. Secondly, in war time and I do include war since KLA begun with activities, we had all the possible rights to be defended by our defence forces. KLA was a threat for us Serbs as Serbian police or army for you Albanians. I don't want to talk here what i have expirienced from the Albanians from Kosovo (believe me these expirience s are very negative . This only mean that we all do have negative expiriences from each others. I aslo wonder why Serbia was waiting that long to solve the problem of Kosovo and how we could live so long with such presure coming from Albanians. While you had all the power in Kosovo (exept independence) there were terrible actions against Serbs. Perhaps you can try to find out about those actions.

"Itar-Tass reported on Tuesday that the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Bishop of Raška and Prizren Artemije called on Serbs not take part in the forthcoming parliamentary and local elections, reminding that a similar stand had already been presented by officials in Belgrade and most Serb parties in the province.

...and then blame the Kosovar Albanians and Kosova's government for their "misery", "being terrorised", "isolation", "destruction of Serbian churches" etc etc

Thanks very much for enlightening me and telling me about my life and conditions when serbs where in power! You are so knowledgeable!!

I can tell from your comment that you have never been in Kosovo.

First of all, I don't deny that some serbs in Kosovo live in difficult conditions, hence why I think that Serbia should pay them wages even if they receive a wage from Kosovo. They should not be blackmailed by Serbian goverment, sicne they are in a diffuclt condition already.

So instead of attacking albanians, why don't you look at your own goverment that is doing NOTHING good for K. Serbs.

Secondly, conditions for K.Serbs are not as bad as some people make them out to be. I have driven many times and stopped in Gracanica and have not seen any barbed-wire. But the situation is nowhere near good enough as it should be. The biggest obstacle is the unresolved status, tension related to that, and actions of Belgrade. It will take many years to improve the conditions of K. Serbs AND the rest of Kosova's citizens.

Now, regarding your comment about how albanians and me personally were treated by serbs - like I said it shows that you have never been in Kosovo for long periods, before the war.

There was no barb-wire, because it was pointless since, barbwire would not be able to stop a serbian tank.

"As long as I remember you Albanians haven't been living like that ever in Kosovo, and not a one Serb has ever treted you that way." (brumsila) - are you kidding my? Please tell that was a joke! I have personally been slapped, kicked and punched, tear gassed in school, at least on three occasions by serbian police pre-99, for no other reason than for being albanian - and that was before I even turned 16!!! The last time I was attacked by a serb (paramiliatry), was when me and my family were kicked out by force from our home with guns pointed at us on 1st of April 1999. As a goodbye present, we were robbed and then I was slapped kicked few times, and called 'siptarski terrorist' told to go Albanian or Macedonia. As I said b4, we were extremly lucky, compared to what some people went through.

So please, please, please, do not insult my intelligence by telling me or any other albanian about how we were treated by serbs, and the conditions we lived in. We are fully aware, and the memories are still fresh!

And let me tell you something, nowdays I find it extremly difficult to comprehend how we could live with that kind of abuse and degredation everyday. Most people feel that way. Hence the reason why I am certain that Kosovo will be independent one way or another (at least for albanian parts of Kosovo - the north might end up paritioned). As long as my generation lives - thats the only possible outcome -the alternative is much worse - thats not a threat but a fact.

If serbian politicians and serbs in Serbia care about K. Serb than they would not have a problem is they were received two wages (one from Serbia and 1 from Kosovan goverment), especially since apparently the K.Serbs live in awful conditions, with barb-wires, etc etc.
nikshala

Why do they live in barb-wire? What did you do as an individual to change that. Did you ever disccussed this with friends? Why don't you start promoting better attitudes towards the Serbs living in there, whay don't you address to relevant officials in Kosovo about this problem? Why don't you organise people in order to change the things and move them in better direction? Why? As long as I remember you Albanians haven't been living like that ever in Kosovo, and not a one Serb has ever treted you that way. You haven't been surronded by birbed-wire and you could freelly move anywhere you wished, you haven't been escorted with bunch of sodiers ever. You could freely speak your language without being worreied if something is going to happen to you for that.

Serbia do worry for these people over there and have a strategy. There were no threats of not giving them money. But if those so called politicans are getting money from UNMIK and Serbian government then they should decide of which one they want to belong to. Other people as far as I know do get money from Kosovo and from Serbia and there is no any doubt. They are just ordinary people, not politicans and those people should be given enough money.

It just goes to show that K. Serbs are nothing but a pawn for nationalistic ambitions of Milosevic type politicans in Serbia today, who seem to be a majority.

If I was a K. Serb I would be raging and totally dissappointed. They are getting blackmailed by the 'considerate' serbian goverment.

If this is how Serbia treat the K. serbs, what can albanians expect from a state like that?
