Europe set for slower growth

Economic growth in the EU will slow in 2008 because of a weaker U.S. economy and problems in global financial markets, the EC says.

It is forecasting the average oil price will rise from USD 70.60 a barrel this year to USD 78.80 in 2008.

How is that possible? Over her it's more like 95$ per barrel.

Well, at least Russian economic growth is going to be about 7 percent, by far outpacing the EU's growth. And there are no signs of the Russian growth slowing down much in the near future. Their market is booming, and so is their consumption, so it is an ideal market to target, and that should be our major focus for us. We benefit more from the Russian boom than we do from the EU snail-like crawl.
